14、o nave. Testing employees is a good idea for a number of reasons. Many people spend years studying the subject that they will one day pursue a career in. While in school, people are constantly learning new ideas and techniques for their future job, as well as being tested on the things that they lea
15、rn. This keeps the information fresh in their minds; however, this is not the case once people start working. Once you secure a job and begin working, you dont necessarily stop learning, but you may only use some of the knowledge that youve accumulated over the years. Other things that youve learned
16、, because they dont deal directly with your job on a daily basis, may be forgotten. If employees are periodically tested on all of the information that they should know in order to perform their job, it will ensure that these things will not be forgotten and all employees are equipped to perform the
17、ir job to the best of their ability. Employees will have to constantly study the information necessary to do their job, so when uncommon problems arise, instead of having to study or review how to deal with that problem, the information will be readily available. Testing employees also provides anot
18、her basis for employers to give rewards or incentives to their employees. Employers can factor test scores into decisions for promotions and raises, which is easier than observing and evaluating the performance of their employees. If a test is administered and scores are calculated, an employer simply has to look at the scores and perhaps the record of previous scores to know which employees know what theyre doing and which, do not. For these reasons, I think that periodically testing employees can only strengthen a companys overall performance.
