People like Mother Theresa and Isaac Newton should have monuments, but not people like Beckham and Andy Lau. Theyve done well in life, but they havent really made a great contribution to society. Why not? However, 1 think that the honours should be decided by an independent panel rather than by politicians. Very often, politicians just give honours to the people who helped them with their careers rather than to people who truly deserve them.
