1、Designation: D 868 85 (Reapproved 2003)Standard Test Method forEvaluating Degree of Bleeding of Traffic Paint1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 868; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of la

2、st revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 The photographic reference standards that are part ofthis test method2are representative of the degrees of bleedingof t

3、raffic or pavement marking paints. The standards areintended primarily for comparative evaluation in the labora-tory.1.2 Bleeding as defined is the only type of discoloration inthis test method.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use.

4、It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2. This test method in conjunction with the method forpanel preparation in Test Method D 969 is used to evaluatesuch bleeding properties. The evaluation is very subjective andraise

Use of Photographic Reference Standards5.1 The photographic reference standards that are part ofthis test method2are representative of the degrees of bleedingof traffic or pavement marking paints. The photograph in Fig.

Forinstance, a yellow paint in general would be expected to show lessbleeding than a white paint since its initial color is
