、Designation: D 4650 93 (Reapproved 2003)Standard Specification forNormal Butane Thermophysical Property Tables1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 4650; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of

、last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 The normal butane thermophysical property tables arefor use in the calculation of the pressure-volume-temperature(PVT

、), thermodynamic, and transport properties of normalbutane for process design and operations. Tables are providedfor gaseous and liquid normal butane at temperatures between135 and 600K at pressures to 70 MPa. These tables weredeveloped by the National Institute of Standards and Technol-ogy (formerl

、y the National Bureau of Standards) upon culmi-nation of four years of effort in acquiring available physicalproperties data, performing experimental measurements, and informulating these tables for use in thermal computations.2. Sponsorship2.1 The preparation of the tables and supporting work wasdo

、ne by the National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST) under the sponsorship of the Gas Research Institute, theAmerican Gas Association, and the Standard Reference DataProgram of NIST.3. Applicability3.1 These tables apply directly only to pure gaseous andliquid normal butane. However, it is

、 expected that they willfind substantial use in mathematical models and tables for thethermophysical properties of mixtures containing normal bu-tane, such as natural gas.4.
