7、s3. Ordering Information3.1 The seller shall mention this specification number in allquotations and when acknowledging purchase order.4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Material shall be based on 100 % virgin fluoroelastomerterpolymer of at least 68 % by weight of fluorine content. Thecompound shall co
8、ntain no less than 70 % by weight offluoroelastomer. The remaining 30 % by weight shall becomprised of Medium Thermal (MT) carbon black, Classifi-cation N 990 (in Classification D1765), as reinforcing filler. Nomineral fillers shall be used. The fluoroelastomer curative shallbe of the bisphenol (dih
9、ydroxy), or peroxide types. No amountof reprocessed fluoroelastomer scrap or nonfluoroelastomerpolymer is acceptable.4.2 As-received virgin fluroelastomer sampled in accor-dance with Section 6 shall be fully press-cured, typically for 20min at 150C (302F), but not post-cured. Other time/temperature
10、conditions are acceptable providing they producevulcanizates that meet the property requirements.5. Physical Properties5.1 The mean value of the individual samples shall meet thephysical and chemical property requirements shown in Table 1.5.2 A sample shall be exposed to 260 6 3C (500 6 5F)for 70 6
11、0.5 h per Test Method D573 and conform with thefollowing property change requirements to determine dry heatresistance:Hardness Change 10 pointsTensile Strength Change +50 % maxElongation Ultimate 225 % minWeight Change 7 % max5.3 The material color shall be black.6. Sampling6.1 Sampling and testing
12、shall be as follows:6.1.1 For acceptance tests, sufficient product shall be takenat random from each lot to perform all required tests. United States16.1.2 ASTM International test specimens shall be preparedfrom the same batch of polymer/compound as the materialbeing supplied and shall be fully press-cured as specified in4.2.6.1.3 A lot is a
16、ll compound processed in one continuous runand presented to the purchaser at one time.6.1.4 Abatch is the quantity of compound run through a millor mixer at one time.6.1.5 The seller shall use ingredients and manufacturingprocesses on specification test samples that are essentially thesame as those

Number of Test and Retests7.1 Acceptance TestsThe seller of the expansion jointshall be responsible for checking the batch sample test results,confirming that the results are in accordance with thisspecification, and preparing the “Batch Test Certification”report. The buye
18、r reserves the right to perform confirmatorytests as deemed necessary to ensure that the product conformsto the “Batch Test Certification” and the full requirements ofthis specification.7.1.1 Acceptance tests shall cover the following properties:7.1.1.1 Hardness, as received (see Table 1);7.1.1.2 Te
19、nsile strength, as received (see Table 1);7.1.1.3 Elongation, as received (see Table 1);7.1.1.4 Specific gravity, as received (see Table 1);7.1.1.5 Volume Swell Methanol (see Table 1);7.1.1.6 Volume Swell Toluene (see Table 1); and7.1.1.7 Heat aging, as received (see 5.2).7.1.2 Shipments and certifi
20、cation with test values fromacceptance tests in 7.1.1 shall include traceability back topolymers, grade, and lot number.7.2 Preproduction TestsTests for all technical require-ments are preproduction tests and shall be performed initiallyand just prior to shipment of the expansion joints to the buyer
21、,or when a change of ingredients or processing or both requiresreapproval or when the buyer deems confirmatory testing isrequired.8. Inspection8.1 The seller of the expansion joints shall be responsiblefor preparation of all batch test samples, conducting all therequired specification tests, and pro
22、viding the test data. Thebuyer reserves the right to obtain additional batch samples andperform all confirmatory testing necessary to ensure theproduct conforms to the full requirements of this specification.9. Certification9.1 The seller shall furnish with each shipment a reportshowing the test res
23、ults on each lot so that conformance toacceptance requirements can be determined. Documentationmust include traceability back to polymer type, supplier, andsuppliers lot number.10. Quality Assurance10.1 The product, as received, shall be uniform in qualityand condition, smooth, as free from foreign
24、materials ascommercially practical, and free from imperfections detrimen-tal to use as intended.11.
