、Designation: D7636/D7636M 11Standard Practice forSampling and Analysis of Modified Bitumen Roof Systems1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D7636/D7636M; the number immediately following the designation indicates theyear of original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of l

、ast revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval. A superscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This practice is for removing specimens from existingmodified bitumen roof membranes for visual assessment andevaluatio

、n for abnormalities in the membrane. The roof mem-brane consists of one or more plies/sheet materials in which atleast one ply is a modified bitumen (MB) sheet, and which isinstalled with one or more of the following methods: hotasphalt, heat welding (open flame torching or heated air), coldadhesive

、, or self-adhesive. The roof membrane may consist ofone or more plies of the following:1.1.1 SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene), APP (attactic poly-propylene), or other polymer, modified bitumen sheet materi-als.1.1.2 An exposed modified bitumen sheet material, that is, amodified cap sheet, covering mu

、ltiple layers of built-up roofing(BUR) plies.1.1.3 Any adhesive or bitumen component used to installthe roof membrane.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, eachsy

、stem shall be used independently of the other. Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for in

Test Specimen5.1 As a minimum, the roof membrane specimens should betaken down to the top surface of the membrane substrate.Sampling down to the level of the roof deck may be necessaryto better determine the cause and extent of any abnormality.5.2 T
