20、ofthecableanddiscard.Cutfivespecimensofapproximately30mm lengthfromtheremainingcable.Stripthespecimensofinsulationtoexposealengthof14,5mmto15mmof conductor,takingcaretoensurethatnopartofthesurfaceortheexposedconductorbecomes contaminated,especiallybycontactwiththefingers.Minimizeandcorrectanydisturb

ForconductortypeD(nickelplated)useSn96solder(96,5%tin,3,5silver)at(271 5 )Cwithcollophony resinfluxactivatedto0,5%chloridelevel. Suspendthespecimenverticall
28、ywithitscutend(20 5)mmabovethesurfaceofthemoltensolderfor (30 15 )stoallowmostofthefluxsolventtoevaporate.Duringthisdryingperiod,scrapethesurfaceofthe moltensolderwithabladeofsuitablematerialtoremoveoxidesandadjustthesuspensionandchart recordertracetothedesiredzeroposition. Immersethespecimeninthemo
