23、ation 3 Preparation of specimens 3.1 lf not at standard test conditions, the specimens shall be subjected to standard test conditions and stabilized at these conditions for 24 h as defined in EN 3745-100. Attenuation should be measured, in accordance with EN 3745-301 method C, before the test. 3.2 T
24、he following details shall be specified if not already included in the product standard: the number and length of specimens (or number of turns around the mandrel); diameter of mandrel; the number of cycles, if not two; maximum permissible variation in attenuation; the temperature at which test is c
25、arried out. 4 Apparatus The test requires a suitable cold chamber capable of temperature control of 2 C, a mandrel, a Light Launch System (LLS) and Light Detector System (LDS) as defined in EN 2591-100. 1) In preparation at the date of publication of this standard. Immediately after condition-ing at the low temperature, the specimen shall be wrapped around the mandrel the specified number
27、 of times. The specimen shall be fixed so as to remain in contact with the mandrel throughout each turn. The specimen shall then be subjected to the low temperature for a period of 1 h. Whilst still at the lower temperature, the specimen shall be wound off the mandrel and re-wound in the opposite di
28、rection, so that the compressed part in the first operation becomes the stretched part in the second one. The cycle shall be repeated once or the number of times specified in the product standard, on the same sample. 5.2 Final measurements and requirements After returning the sample to standard cond
29、itions for 1 h, the following tests are to be carried out: EN 3745-201: Visual examination; EN 3745-301: Attenuation, method C, maximum change in attenuation shall be within that specified.
