28、shallbeagreedwiththeTransportAuthority. Thisclausedefinestherequirementsofbothtypesoftestwhichshallbeperformedonthebrakingsystem. Typetestsshallbeperformedonanearlyproductionunitortrainpriortoanyofthatfleetofvehiclesentering serviceandformsthebasisofanacceptanceofthebrakesystemdesignanditsimplementa
29、tion.Typetestingof refurbishedrollingstockshallbeundertakenifthebrakesystemhasbeenmodifiedorifthetrainmassand/or passengerloadhasbeensignificantlychanged(seeSection1ofEN134521:2003). ThecontentofthetypetestingforrefurbishedstockshallbeagreedwiththeTransportAuthority,accordingtothe modificationsimple
30、mented.Routinetestsshallbeperformedoneveryproductionunitortrainpriortothattrain enteringservice. 4.2 Typetestrequirements 4.2.1 Statictypetests Priortoanystatictesting,allnecessarysystemintegrationandconstructionaltestsshallhavebeensuccessfully completed. Theprincipalobjectivesofthesestatictypetests
31、aretoverifythatthetrainsbrakingequipmentiscompliantwith thespecificationandtoestablishthevaluesofalltherelevantparametersasareferenceforassessingthe dynamicperformance. Afullfunctionaltest,includingallsafetydevices,shallhavebeensatisfactorilycompletedbeforebeginningthe dynamictests. Statictypetestin
32、gforthebrakesystemmaycombinebothbenchtestsandontraintests.Thescopeofstatictype testingshallinclude,butnotbelimitedto,thefollowing(whereapplicableorequivalentsdependingonthetypeof brakeequipment): brakecylinderpressures(orequivalent); loadweighsignals(e.g.pressures); frictionpairloads(blockforceorpad
33、clampingforce); brakeactuatoroperationandstroke; governorsettings(e.g.pressureswitches);EN134522:2003(E) 7 brakeapplicationtimes; brake release times; monitoringdeviceaccuracy; functionalitye.g.correctoperationofallcontrolsandisolationdevicesattrain/vehicle;componentlevel; interlockoperation(e.g.tra

Incaseparticularparameters,e.g.brakeapplicationandreleasetimes,c
35、annotbeeasilytestedoncertainvehicles, suchtestsmaybeundertakenasbenchtestsifagreedwiththeTransportAuthority. Theexactstatictestingundertakendependsonthedesignoftheparticularrollingstock. Ifmorethanonemethodofbraking(e.g.frictionbrakesandtrackbrakes)isusedinanybrakingmode,thentests shallbeconductedon
36、eachoftheseseparately,soastodeterminethefunctionalityandresponseofeachsystem. 4.2.2 Dynamictypetests 4.2.2.1General Priortoanydynamictesting,thestatictestingspecifiedaboveshallhavebeencompleted.Inadditionanyspecified simulationand/orbenchtesting(e.g.thermalpredictions,WSPevaluation)shallhavebeencomp
37、leted. Thepurposeofdynamicbraketestingistodemonstratethatthetrainperformancecompliesasaminimumwiththe relevantrequirementsascontainedinclause6,7,8or9 ofEN134521:2003. NOTE TheoperationalperformancesdefinedinEN134521arebasedontheoreticalvalues.Inordertodemonstrate compliancewiththerequirementsdefined
38、inEN134521itisrecommendedtoconducttestsand,fromtheresultsofthese,to determineifthevaluesactuallyachievedfallwithinthelimitsdefinedinEN134521. Foranyinitialspeed,inaccordancewith5.5.1 ofPart1,thestoppingdistanceforeachtestshallbelessthanor equaltothecalculatedvaluewithatheoreticalbrakeasdefinedwithth
39、e a e and t e specifiedin3.7.2and3.7.3of EN134521:2003andinaccordancewiththerelevantTable3,7,11or15ofEN134521:2003. Inaddition,thecomfortlimitsdefinedbytherelevantTable4,8,12or16ofEN134521:2003shallnotbe exceededduringanyofthetests. Additionaltestsshallbeperformedtodemonstratecompliancewiththebrakep
40、erformancespecifiedbythe TransportAuthoritytobeachievedunderdefinedbrakefailureconditions(referto5.6ofEN134521:2003).Itis recommendedthatthefailureconditionsofonebrakeapplicationsystembeingdefective(e.g.equipmentinactive orisolated)andthepresenceofunbeddedcomponents(e.g.brakeblocksorpads)areconsider
41、edbythe TransportAuthority. Additionaltestsshallalsobeconductedtoestablishtheperformanceachievedunderspecifieddegraded environmentalconditions(e.g.wettrack).TheTransportAuthorityshalldefinetheseconditionsandtheacceptance criteriaforthesetests.EN134522:2003(E) 8 TheTransportAuthoritymayrequestinvesti
42、gativeteststoestablishtheperformanceachievedunderextreme conditions(e.g.ambientconditions,componenttemperature,passengerload,lowadhesion,unfavourablewind). Inordertodemonstrateconsistentperformanceandensurethattheresultsarerepresentative,asufficientnumber oftestsshallbemade. Theperformanceobtainedfr
43、omdifferenttests,doneundernominallyidenticalconditions,shallnotdivergebymore thanadefinedvaluefromtheaverageperformanceforthosetestconditions(e.g.samespeed,load,location,), TheTransportAuthorityshalldefinethisfigure(toleranceorrepeatabilityband).Itisrecommendedthatthisfigure doesnotexceed 10%fordryrailcondition.Furthermore,theconsistencyofperformancebetweentestsunder differentconditionsshallbeassessed. Thetestsshallbeconductedsoastoavoidtheriskofexcessivetemperaturesbe
