7、ons DIN 101: 1954-12, 1969-08, 1977-07, 1993-05 DIN 101:2011-02 4 1 Scope This standard specifies technical delivery conditions, test methods and acceptance conditions for all types of standardized rivets (except for blind rivets). These specifications are generally applicable but may deviate from t
8、he specifications of other relevant product standards, in which case the latter take precedence. Subject to agreement, the specifications of this standard may also be used for non-standardized rivets. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of

10、hod DIN ISO 2768-1, General tolerances Tolerances for linear and angular dimensions without individual tolerance indications 3 General The quality of rivets is a function of their material, dimensional accuracy and whether they comply with certain special requirements. All requirements are minimum r
11、equirements and apply to unused rivets. Specific manufacturing processes have not been specified. Likewise, a particular appearance has not been specified, such being subject to agreement. The manufacturing process used shall produce rivets that have no surface defects, are sharp-edged and free from
12、 burr, except where such burr results from stamping, for example, and does not impair rivet performance or use. Minor scaling (but not flaking) as well as small scars which do not adversely affect the riveting process, strength and proper seating of rivet head and shank (assuming workmanlike rivetin
13、g) are permitted. Unavoidable shear marks at the rivet end and superficial cracks on the edge of the head which do not impair the durability of the riveted joint are also permitted. Tubular rivets made from tube or drawn wire may have stamping marks consistent with the manufacturing process on the i
14、nner wall. Specifications relating to heat treatment are given in the relevant product standards. DIN ISO 2768-1, tolerance class m, shall apply for dimensions without tolerance indication. 4 Dimensional tolerances The nominal size specified in the relevant product standard shall be the reference di
15、mension for the relevant tolerances and limit deviations specified. DIN 101:2011-02 5 The tolerances and limit deviations for rivets cut from tube and tubular rivets are specified in the relevant product standards. The tolerances and limit deviations specified apply to rivets with any coating. Rivet

DIN 101:2011-02 7 The shank diameter, from a plane through the shank at a distance e from the bearing surface, may increase towards the underhead radius (to a maximum of d7) (see Table 7) or decrease towards the shank end (to a minimum o
20、f d3). In the case of rivets with round or countersunk head, the head may be provided with a cylindrical portion (dimension c) which is to comply with the specifications of Table 2. DIN 101:2011-02 10 7 Marking Any marking of rivets shall be agreed when ordering. 8 Packaging Rivets shall be packed so as to minimize the likelihood of damage in transit. Packages
27、 of standardized rivets shall bear the standard designation and, unless otherwise agreed, the number of units they contain, and the manufacturers symbol. 9 Testing 9.1 Acceptance inspection Acceptance inspection shall be based on the principles specified in DIN EN ISO 3269 with the exception of AQL
28、values for rivet elements that have not yet been included in DIN EN ISO 3269; these values are given in Table 6. AQL 1,0 shall apply for defectives (e.g. wire offcuts) and rivets of a different diameter or shape, etc. 9.2 Testing of mechanical properties a
30、nd materials 9.2.1 Hardness testing Vickers hardness testing shall be carried out as specified in DIN EN ISO 6507-1, with the indentation being made in the zone where the upset head will be formed. Hardness values shall not be used as a basis for assessing the tensile strength. Hardness testing shal
31、l be deemed to be non-destructive. DIN 101:2011-02 11 9.2.2 Impact test Several hammer blows shall be used to bend the rivet head through an angle of 30 from the axis, as a result of which the head shall not break off nor shall incipient cracks appear on the underhead fillet or radius. The rivet sha
32、ll not be heated for this test. The test shall only be carried out on standardized rivets subjected to soft annealing.
