Previous editions DIN 28180: 1953-11, 1964-12 DIN 28181:1985-08 DIN 28181:2007-09 4 1 Scope This standard applies to straight plain-end welded tubes made from non-alloy, alloy and stainless steels intended for use in tubular heat exchangers, which are predominantly used in pro
8、cess engineering. This standard does not apply to steel tubes intended for exposure to flame. Technical delivery conditions shall be as specified in the standards listed in Table 8, with the exception of the dimensions and tolerances specified in Clause 3 of the present standard. NOTE The outside di

The tolerance classes for the outside diameter as in this standa
17、rd shall be specified at the time of ordering. Table 4 gives outside diameter tolerances for non-alloy and alloy steel tubes and Table 5 gives outside diameter tolerances for stainless steel tubes. Table 6 gives tolerances on wall thicknes
20、s, excluding the weld, for all types of tubes covered by this standard. Particular requirements regarding straightness may be agreed. 3.3.5 Finish of tube ends Tube ends shall be square cut and be free from burrs. 4 Materials
23、 Welded steel tubes for tubular heat exchangers shall preferably be made from the steel grades listed in Table 8. Technical delivery conditions shall be as specified in the standards listed in Table 8, with the exception of the dimensions and tolerances specified in Clause 3 of the present standard.

26、th this standard shall include the following information in the order given: The term “Tube”; this standard number (DIN 28181); characteristic tube dimensions: outside diameter wall thickness exact length (see Table 3 for lengths); the tolerance class (see Tables 4 and 5); the DIN Standard giving th
27、e relevant technical delivery conditions (see Table 8), e.g. DIN EN 10217-2; the steel name or material number (see Table 8); the symbol for the delivery condition, for tubes as in DIN EN 10217-7 (see Table 8).
