12、oups 2.3 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specifi- cation shall take precedence. 3. RFiQUIREmNTS 3.1 Description. The sling spreader shall be as shown in figure 1 and as specified herein. 3.2 Firs
13、t article. When specified (see 6.21, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3 and 6.3). 3.3 Material. Material shall be as specified herein. Materials not speci- fied shall be selected by the contractor and shall be subject to all provisions of this specification. All materia
14、l shall be new and unused. 3.3.1 Material deterioration and control. The sling spreader shall be fabricated from compatible materials, inherently corrosion and deterioration resistant or treated to provide protection against the various forms of corrosion and deterioration that may be encountered in
15、 any of the applicable storage and operating environment to which the item may be exposed. 3.3.1.1 Dissimilar metals. Dissimilar metals, as defined in MIL-STD-889, shall be electrically insulated from one another to minimize or prevent galvanic corrosion. corrosion inhibiting sealant conforming to M
16、IL-S-81733 or chromate tape con- forming to MIL-G-20241. Protection against any galvanic corrosion could also be obtained by exclusion of the electrolyte if feasible. Insulation may be provided by an insulating barrier such as a 3.3.1.2 Identification of materials and finishes. The contractor shall
17、identify the specific material, material finish or treatment for use with com- ponents and sub-components, and shall make information available, upon request, to the contracting officer or designated representative. 3.4 Steel. Steel used in the fabrication of the sling spreader shall con- form to AS

20、 MIL-W-8611. Interpretation of welding symbols in figure 1 shall be in accordance with ANSI/AWS A2.4. 3.8 Cleaning and painting. The sling spreader shall be cleaned, treated, and painted in accordance with MIL-T-704, type A. The color of the finish paint shall mtch color No. 34087 of FED-STbi595. 3.

QUALMY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility or inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order,
23、the contractor ic responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unl
24、ess disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such in- spections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to pre- scribed requirements. 4.1.1 Components and material inspection. The cont
25、ractor is responsible for insuring that components and materials used are manufactured, examined, and tested in accordance with referenced specifications and standards. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. b. c. First article i

The sling spreader shall be examined as specified in
27、4.5.1. Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection. 4.4 Quality conformance insmction. 4.4.1 Sampling. Sampling for examination shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.2 Examination. Samples selected in accordance with 4.4.1 shall be examined as specified in 4.5.1. defects and
28、6.5 percent defective for minor defects. AQL shall be 2.5 percent defective for major 4.5 Inspec tion procedure. 4.5.1 Examination. 33、cted in accordance with 4.6.1.2 shall be examined for the following defects. AQL shall be 2.5 percent defective. 111. Boxes not as specified for level A or B. 112. Quantities packed together exceed the box limitations for level 113. Strapping not as specified for level A. 114. Packing not in accorda

Packing shall be level A, level B, or commercial as specified (see 6.2 + 5.1.1 Level A. The spreaders shall be pack
35、ed together in close fitting boxes conforming to PPP-Ei-601, overseas type, style optional or PPP-B-621, class 2, style optional, in quantities not to exceed the weight limitation of the box. The spreaders shall be blocked and braced within the box in a manner to prevent moveatent. Box closure and s
36、trapping shall be in accordance with - - the appendix to the applicable box specification. Strapping shall conform to QQ-S-781, class 1, type I or IV, size as applicable. The sling spreader is intended for use as a component of a multiple barrel sling used for loading and unloading drums and barrels in quantities up to 10 in a single lift (see MIL-S-58040). 6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents sh
40、ould specify the following: a. Title, number, and date of this specification. b. When a first article is required for inspection and approval and the number of units required (see 3.2). c.
