SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers corrosi

2、on-resisting steel, surgical instrument and surgical dressing tables, suitable for use in military medical f aci 1 i ti es. 1.2 Classification. The surgical instrument and surgical dressing tables shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2): Type I - 20 by 16 by 34-1/2 inches with one dr

3、awer. Type II - 48 by 24 by 40-1/2 inches with two drawers. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Issues of documents. The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposals, form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. SPECIFICATIONS FEDERA

When specified in the procurement document, the contractor shall furnish sample unit(s) for first article inspection and approval (see 4.1.2.1 and 6.2) 3.2 Ma ter i al s. 3.2.1 Corrosion-resisting steel. Corrosion-resisting steel shall c

9、omply with the AISI Type 300 series as indicated in the AISI steel products manual when tested as specified in 4.4.1. 3.3 Construction. Construction shall be in accordance with Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing Mo. 20532. Unless otherwise specified the material used in the manufacture

10、of the table shall be corrosion-resisting steel. The table shall consist of four tubular uprights or legs fitted with casters, a top. working surface with guardrail a drawer, or drawers, located directly beneath the top and enclosed in a housing, and a lower shelf. The table shall be of the straight

11、-line, sanitary, flush construction, all parts closely fitted, welded throughout, durable and sound in every detail. The entire structure shall be properly reinforced and deslgned to minimize vibration when in motion. Gages specified herein are minimum; Unless otherwise specified, commercial toleran

12、ces shall be al lowed. need not be hemmed providing they are machined such that no sharp edges are present. The drawer housing flanges :She top shall be constructed of corrosion-resisting steel with all 3-3*1 edges 3 anged as shown on the drawing. The corners of the top shall be . rounded to fit th

13、contour of the housing. The top for the type II table shall be reinforced with longitudinal or lateral channels, as shown in DPSC Drawing No. 20532. The tog shall be fitted tightly over the drawer housing and shall be held in position by the guardrail screws. 3.3.2 Drawer housin On the type I table,

14、 the top edge of the fascia strip shall be + f ange inward 1-1/4 5 1/4 inches and the bottom edge shall be flanged inward a minimum of 3/4 inch. On the type I1 table, the tbp, bottom, and side edges of each drawer opening shall be flanged inward 1-1/4 5 1/4 inches. 3.3.3 Drawer. The drawer front sha

15、ll be filled with sound-deadening material and shallmagainst rubber bumpers. The drawer shall be provided with a pull handle made of corrosion-resisting steel, or anodized aluminum. When the drawer is closed there shall not be more than 1/16 inch clearance at any point between drawer front and enclo

16、sing frame, no more than 1/16 inch vertical movement of the drawer, and no more tnan 1/16 inch lateral movement of the drawer. The drawer face shall close flush with the front of the drawer housing. The clearance between the sides of the drawer front and the enclosing frame shall not differ by more

17、than 1/32 inch. 18、05 T I MIL-T-36202B 3.3.4 Drawer slides. There shall be two pairs of corrosion-resisting steel slides, formed as shown on the drawing, associated with each drawer. One pair of slides, the housing slides, shall be securely welded to the back and to the front turned-in flanges of the housing. The othe

19、r air of slides shall be securely welded to the side of the drawer body. At tRe front of each housing slide and the back of each drawer body slide,- there shall be a ball bearing roller rrith a nylon facinq. .The drawer slides shall include a drawer stop to prevent inadvertent removal of the drawer.

20、 The drawer slides shall function to enable openiing and closing of the drawer without binding. 3.3.5 Guardrail. The guardrail shall be formed -from corrosion-resisting steel rod-1 be continuous around the back and sides of the tabletop. The rail shall be supported by four vertical legs, two of whic

21、h shall be formed integrally with the rail by bending the ends, the other two being separate pieces of rod continuously welded to the guardrail at appropriate locations. The guardrail shall be removable and shall be secured to the tabletop flange and the drawer housing by corrosion-resisting steel b

22、ol ts or screws, nuts and lock washers. The screw or bolt head shall be located on the outside of the table. Each guardrail shall be mounted with either all screws or all bolts. 3.3.6 Casters, Each upright of the table shall be fitted with a caster that is electrmconductive. The table, with the cast

23、ers in place, shall meet the requirements for Reduction of Electrostatic Hazards - Furniture as specified in NFPA No. 56A, when tested as specified ln 4.4.2. Casters shall be zinc or cadmium plated. Each table shall have four casters of the same size. 3.3.6.1 Type I. The four casters for the type I

24、table shall conform to type 3.3.6.2 Type II. The four casters for the type II table shall conform to the a. Two casters - Type I, class A or B, 3 inch, style a, mounted in a solid stem, fitted to the inside of the tubular upright and bolted in place. b. Two casters - Type II, class A or B, 3 inch, s

All normally visible surfaces of the table, including interior as well as exterior surfaces of drawer, shall be given a No. 4 commercial finish. All other su

26、rfaces shall be cleaned and finished in accordance with best commercial practice. 3.5 Identification marking. Each unit shall be marked permanently and legibly with the following: Contract or purchase order number. Name or registered trademark of the manufacturer. National Stock Number. 4 Provided b

Workmanship shall be first class throughout. Tables shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or may impair th

28、eir serviceability. All burrs and sharp edges shall be removed. 3.7.1 WelGiFg. Welding shall be durable, sound in every detail and in accordance wit the latest practices recommended by the American Welding Society. All welds shall be produced by qualified welding operators with satisfactory welding

29、equipment using satisfactory filier metal or electrode where applicable to provide the best possible weld. Surfaces to be welded shall be free from grease, oil, oxides or any other foreign matter. Any cleaning method which will remove these substances and leave the surface clean is satisfactory. All

30、 weld joints shall blend into the adjacent metal in gradual, smooth curves. Beads shall be smooth and free of slag, excessive undercut, or excessive splatter. Sufficient metal shall be added to provide a suitable fillet or reinforcement unless otherwise specified. Welds shall not be oxidized. All we

31、lds shall be continuous with no visible voids, pin holes, or cracks. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor ia responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. contract, the cont

The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed nece

33、ssary to assure supplie5 and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Records. Records of exarrinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government, upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time,

34、during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. 4.1.2 Inspection, Inspection, as used in this specification, is defined as both examination (such as visual and auditory investigation without the use of special labora

35、tory appliances or procedures) and testing (deter- mination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Except as otherwise specified in the 4.1.2.1 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: .- a. First article insp

Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance
