Consequently,identificationandassessmentofthefactorspertainingtoagivencorrosionlikelihoodasdefinedin thisEuropeanStandardaretoocomplexforpreciseresultstobeexpectedsolelyfromtheuseofthisEuropean Standard.ThereforethisEuropeanStandardhastobesupplementedbyexpertiseandscientifictraining.

ThispartofthisEuropeanStandarddefinesthegeneralconceptsfortheassessmentmethodandliststhemain factorsinfluencingthecorrosionofburiedstructures. 2 Normativereferences ThisEuropeanStandardincorporatesbydatedorundatedreference,provisionsfromotherpublications.These normativereferences

29、becausequantitativeassessmentofsucheffectsisnotpossible. 4.4 Riskofappearanceofcorrosiondamageinsoil Theriskofappearanceofcorrosiondamagecanbeestimatedfromtheclassofcorrosionloadinsoilin combinationwiththerequirementsconcerningthefunctionofthestructure,itsdesign(material,thickness,.),its serviceabil

Theassessmentoftheriskoftheappearanceofcorrosiondamageisnotdetailedinthisstandard.Standards dealingwithprotectivesystemsofspecificburiedmetallicstructuresaretobeusedincombinationwiththe corrosionloadinsoil.SomeguidanceisgiveninTable2. 33、terials Thisstandardonlyappliestosoilsandbackfillmaterialsindirectcontactwiththestructure.Thesematerialscanbe dividedintothefollowingcategoriesbasedontheirorigin: nativesoils,eitherdisturbedorundisturbed; importedsoils(backfillmaterials): naturalsoils(sand,gravel,crushedlimestone.);EN125011:2003(E)

34、7 artificialsoils:byproducts(granules,),industrialrefuse(ashes,cinders,.),etc. ThemainphysicalandchemicalparametersofsoilsandbackfillmaterialsareconsideredinEN125012. 5.3 Structuresandmetals Thecorrosionofastructureinagivensoildependsonnumerousparametersspecifictoeachstructure,for examplegeometry,co

35、mplexityandoperationalconditions.Moreover,forexistingstructures,corrosionproducts havetobeconsideredasapartofthecorrosionsystem. Whenconsideringthecorrosionofaburiedstructure,theimpairmentofitsfunctionsshouldbetakenintoaccount inrelationtotheexpectedtypeofcorrosion.Themaintypesofcorrosiontobeconside

36、redinrelationtothe principalfunctionaregiveninannexC. Metalsandtheiralloysconsideredinthisstandardcaneitherconstitutethematerialusedforthestructureorthe protectivesystemforthatstructure. 5.4Environment EnvironmentalfactorsarediscussedinEN125012andincludespecialfactorssuchaselectricalinterference wit
