24、tion Thepressurebalancedfootvalve,alsocalledemergencyvalveorinternalsecurityvalve,thesubjectofthis standard,isaninternalselfclosingstopvalveensuringtheprimarycontainmenttoconfinethetransported dangeroussubstanceswithinthetankwhenclosed. Itallowsthetransferofdangeroussubstancesbetweenatankcompartment

Asurgepressureof5timesthemaximumallow
34、ableworkingpressureshallnotjeopardizethetightnessofthe housingorthefunctioningofthepressurebalancedfootvalve. 5.2Dimensions ThepressurebalancedfootvalveshallbedesignedforusewithDN100nominalborepipe. 5.3Mounting ThetankmountingflangeshallbeinaccordancewithAnnexA; Thepipeconnectionflangeshallbeinaccor
35、dancewithAnnexBorAnnexC,accordingtothespecifiedtype. 5.4 Bottomloadingflowcharacteristics Thefootvalveshallbesuitableforbottomloadingratesupto150m 3 /h,ataworkingpressureupto500kPa; Thefootvalvedesignshallbesuchthatturbulence,jettingorsprayingofproductiseffectivelycontrolled. 5.5Actuation 5.5.1 Thep
36、ressurebalancedfootvalveshallbeactuatedbymechanical,pneumaticorothermeans. 5.5.2 Thepressurebalancedfootvalveshallcloseifitsactuatingmeansfailsorisdisconnected. 5.5.3 Theclosingtimeofthevalvefollowingremovaloftheactuationsignalshallbebetween0,5sand2sfor bottomloadingrates,asindicatedin5.4. NOTE When
