21、s. 3 Storageandhandling Priortoinstallation,furnitureshouldbestoredinasecurespaceandstepsshouldbetakentominimisetheriskof damageordeterioration.Careshouldbetakeninprotectingfurniturestoredorinstalledinthelaboratorybefore andduringdecorationandfittingoutofthelaboratory.Informationgivenbythemanufactur
22、ershouldbefollowed. Theadequacyofaccesstothelaboratoryandanytemporarystoragespaceshouldbechecked.Indifficultcases, scaffoldedaccessthroughwindowsmaybenecessary.Particularattentionshouldbepaidtothefollowing: a)door dimensions; b)stairways and landings; c) elevatorloadanddimensions; d) corridordimensi
23、ons,changesofcorridordirectionandpotentialobstructions. Informationshouldbeexchangedbetweenthefurnituresupplierandthefurnitureinstalleraboutthespaceneeded formovingthefurnitureintothelaboratory. 4 Laboratoryconditionsforinstallation Thefurnitureshouldnotbeinstallediftheairtemperatureorrelativehumidi
24、tyinthelaboratorytoreceiveitis significantlydifferentfromthatofitsstoragespace.EN14056:2003(E) 5 Iffurniturehastobeinstalledbeforenewbuildingworkhasdriedout,heatinganddehumidificationshouldbe appliedslowlyoveranumberofdays.Dehumidifiersshouldbeusedinpreferencetoheaters.Ifheatingonlyis applied,goodve
25、ntilationisessential. Wheremobileandrelocatablefurnitureistobeinstalled,allsurfaces,includingthosetobeconcealedbythe furniture,shouldbedecoratedbeforeinstallation.Thisminimiseredecorationandmakinggoodatsubsequent layoutchanges. Itisrecommendedtocompletedecorationandfloorcoveringsasfaraspossiblebefor
26、efurnitureisinstalled.Where furniturehasalreadybeeninstalled,itshouldbeprotectedeffectivelyfromfollowingtradespriortohandover. 5 Fixingfloorandwallmountedfurniture Fixedfurnitureitemsshouldbefixedtothefloororsupportingwallbythemethodrecommendedbythe manufacturer. WorkbenchesshallcomplywithEN13150. N
27、OTEEuropeanstandardsforlaboratorystorageunitsandfumecupboardsareindevelopment. Floormountedbenchsubstructuresofthecupboardpedestalorlegframetypeshouldincludeaprovisionfor levellingtheworktop.Asimilarprovisionshouldbeincludedwithwallmountedfurniture.Worktopsshouldbe providedwithupstandsinorderthatthe
28、junctionwiththewallislocatedabovethegeneralworksurface. Iffloorcoveringistobecovedtothefurniture,formingacontinuousupstandtofacilitatecleaningand decontamination,fixedfloorfurnituremayneedtobeinstalledbeforefloorcoveringislaid. Whenfixinglaboratoryfurniture,careshouldbetakentofacilitatecleaning. 6 P
29、lacingmobileandrelocatablefurniture Mobilefurnitureshouldbefittedwithalockingdeviceandrelocatablefurnitureshouldbefittedwithalevelling device. Havingplacedmobileandrelocatablefurnitureintherequiredpositions,thesedevicesshouldbeadjustedto achieveaneatlevelandlineofallcomponentsingroupedarrangements.C
30、omponentsshouldbefixedin accordancewiththemanufacturersinstructions. 7 Heightadjustablefurniture Heightadjustablefurnitureshouldhaveameansofadjustment,levellingandlocking. 8 Servicesdistributionzoneinfurniture Laboratoryfurniturelayoutsshouldincludespinezonesforservicesdistribution. Generallyabuildi
31、ngservicedistributionrunshouldnotbelocatedinthelaboratoryfurniturespineifitcontinueson toserviceotherareasofthebuilding. Servicesshouldbegroupedandcodedunderthefollowingtypes: a)electrical:lightingandpower; b)communications;EN14056:2003(E) 6 c)water; d)steam:steamandcondensate; e)eachgas; f)drainage

Pipesforcoldwaterandsteamshouldhaveathermalinsulation.Allpipesshouldbefixedinsuchawaythattheir deformationduringusedoesnotoccur. 9Services input Thelocationofbuildingservicessupplyconnectionpointsdependsonthefurnitureconfiguration.E
33、lectrical connectionsinthefloorshouldbeavoided. NOTEFloorconnectionsmayimposesevererestrictionsonthe rearrangementofservicesandfurniture,unlessthelaboratory hasaraisedaccessfloor,duct,servicevoidorsomesimilararrangement. Wallconnectionsshouldbeeasilyaccessible. Theprovisionofaservicesbollardshouldbe
34、consideredwhereequipmentismobile. Considerationshouldbegiventotheprovisionofthefollowing: a)accessspaceforserviceentry,connectionandmaintenance; b)meansofisolatingbranchorbenchfromsupply.Ideally,isolationandprotectionpointsshouldbelocated adjacenttotheexitfromthelaboratory.Overheadmultiuserorteachin
35、genvironmentsmaynecessitate alternatives.Sitinganinterfaceateachbenchorgroupofferstheadvantageoflocalisolationwhichdoesnot disturbnearbybenches; c)protectionforpersonnel,e.g.bysuitablyratedresidualcurrentdevicesorcircuitbreakers,knockoffbutton, gasorsteamvalves,pressurereducingvalves. 36、litiestobeconsideredforindividualservicescanbeasfollows: 1)Ventilation.Nospecialfacilities; 2)Water.Isolationwithavalveorstopcockofsuitablematerials; 3)Waste.Isolationbysiphonordilutionchamber; 4)Steam.Isolationwithavalveorstopcockofsuitablematerials; 5)Gases:general.Isolationandpressurereductiontoa

Pressurereductionshouldoccurasnearaspossibletothesourceofsupplywithinthelaboratory; 6)Gases:combustible.Mainstopcockcontrolaccessibleatexitdooroflaboratory; 7)Gases:special.Isolationandpressurereductiontoalevelsuitablefortheapparatusinuse.Pressure reducti

41、locationofbuildingservicesterminationsand thefurniturethatrelatestothem. Forelectricalpowerandtelecommunications,toleranceisprovidedbytheflexibilityofcablingandwiring.Ifthe situationdemands,conduitingcablingshouldbeconsideredwithpipedservices. Fixedfurniturerequiresadifferentdesignapproachfromthatof
42、mobileandrelocatablefurniture. Serviceconnectionsforfixedfurnituremaybeeither: a)arigidhandcraftedjunctionpipeorconduitformedtotakeupanydiscrepancybetweenthelocationof buildingsiteservicesterminationsinfurniture;or b)aflexiblejunctionpipeorconduitadjustedtotakeupanydiscrepancyasabove. Formobilefurni
43、tureassemblies,theuseofflexibleserviceconnectionsisessentialtoallowformovementandto facilitaterelocation.Thelengthofflexibleserviceconnectionsshouldberelatedtothegridofservicesoutletson thebuildingsitewheresuchagridisprovidedforfuturerelocationandreconnectionoffurnitureandequipment. 11 Serviceoutlets 11.1 Benchleveloutlets 11.1.1General Benchoutletsshouldbeintendedasconnectionpointsforapparatusmountedonoradjacenttobenches,orforthe deliveryanddisposaloffluidsandgasesimmediatelyadjacenttotheworkingarea.
