SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a type 66 nylon, reinforced with short glass fibers. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material

3、 used for the distributor breaker plate link and other applications where strength, stiffness, toughness, fatigue endurance, and creep resistance are required at high temperatures. NOTICE: This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate changes in part dimensi

4、ons and physical properties due to moisture absorption or loss in the service/assembly environment. Information on this material with respect to moisture should be obtained from the responsible PEO Materials Engineering Department. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS M

5、aterial suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 MOLDING COMPOUND 3.2.1 Melting Point 250 - 265 C (ASTM D 789) 3.2.2 Moisture Content, max 0.3% (ASTM D 789) 3.2.3 Glass Fiber Content, by weight 40 - 45% (ASTM D 258

6、4) 3.3 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN The following requirements are intended for initial source qualifications, and Initial Sample Inspection Report. These will be rechecked at intervals specified by Quality Assurance. 3.3.3 Specific Gravity, min 1.46 (ASTM D 792) 3.3.4 Tensile Strength, min 28,000 psi (193

9、2 Appearance Shall be uniform in density, texture and finish, free of visible porosity, warpage, heat scorch, checks, cracks, chipped edges and uneven surfaces. They shall also be free of other contamination. 3.4.3 Regrind and/or Blended Material Must meet Q101 Appendix D, or limits as specified on

10、 the engineering drawing. 3.4.5 The following requirements will be used as acceptance criteria for molded parts. The tests indicated will be conducted by Ford Motor Company at its option. .
