2、ate rial defined by this specification is a glass fiber reinforcedpolysulfone molding compound. This material is self-extinguishing withoutflame retardant additives (SE).2. APPLICATIONThi s specification was originally released for material used for plughousings.3. REQUIREMENTSNote: The material sha

3、ll be conditioned for a min imum of 24 h at 23 EC +/-2 EC and 50 % +/- 5 % rel ative humidity prior to test and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.The values of this specification are based on natural co lored and pigmentedmaterial.3.1 REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MOLDING COMPOUND3.1

4、.1 Glass Fiber Content 7.5 - 12.5 %(ISO 3451/1, Method A, 30 minutes at700 +/- 50 EC, test portion 0.6 to 0.8 g)3.2 REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TEST SPECIMENSAll tests shall be carried out on injection mold ed specimens with theexcepti on of clause 3.2.6. These test specimens may be eithercomp ression mold

5、ed, injection molded or extruded. Preparation ofspecimens according to ISO 294. The optimum mol ding conditions shallbe as recommended by the supplier of the molding compound.3.2.1 Density, Natural 1.285 - 1.315 g /cm 3(ISO R 1183, Method A)This range may be exceeded by pigmented material.ENGINEERIN

All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.4 SUBSTANCE CONTROLLegal, health, safe

15、o this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or no

16、t suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing,

19、 Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the req

20、uirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended proces

21、ses and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5.
