APPLICATIONThese specifications were released originally to define paint performancefor ele ctrocoated spare parts which later are partially painted in bodycolour at dealers location.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSup pliers must conform
3、to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedthe rein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatistical tools must be used to analyze process /product data so thatvariation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 CON
4、DITIONINGAll t ests according to this specification shall be performed in acontrolled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidityif not otherwise specified.3.3 SYSTEM COMPONENTS3.3.1 SubstrateCold or hot rolled steel, iron or zinc castings or aluminiumetc., as specified on Engineering
5、Drawing.When it is not feasible t o test actual parts, test panels maybe substituted. Test panels shall be processed underproduction conditions, analogous to actual parts.3.3.2 CleaningThe surface to be coated shall be cleaned by an acceptablepro cess to remove residues, finger prints, rust and dirt

Ifsteel and aluminum parts are processed concurrently, zincphosphate coating per WSK-M3P1-C shall be used.De viating pretreatments may be accepted if the final partmeets all requirements of this specification.3.3.4 Cathodic ElectrocoatFord Engineering approved current production material,app
9、lication and film thickness as required in the relevantmaterial specification.3.3.5 AgeingTest panels or test specimens prepared for investigationsaccor ding to this specification must be aged for at least72 hours at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 hours at 45 +/- 1 C prior totesting.3.3.6 Production Paint RepairR
10、epai red areas must meet the requirements of thisspecification. All repair materials and processes used mustbe approved by the affected Product Engineering Office.Maximum film thickness for repaired parts will be specifiedin the mutually agreed control plan.3.4 COLOUR Black or as specified(FLTM BI 1

13、g without damage.3.7 COMPATIBILITYAfter application of prim er surfacer and topcoat, finished parts forex terior application shall meet all requirements of performancespecification WSK-M2P136-A.3.8 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSSpecific requirements for material and/or manufact ured parts shall bespecified
14、 on the Engineering drawing, Engineering parts specificationand/or performance specifications. All critical areas with respectto thes e properties shall be clearly designated on the Engineeringdrawing.3.9 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll mat erials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inall
15、characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,cons truction, color, processing or labeling of the materialor iginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchan ges affect the materials ability to m
16、eet the specificationrequ irements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obt ain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, tes t samples and a new code identification areto be submitted
17、with the request.Substance restrictions im posed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSThis specification is int ended to define the performance and/or p
