2、ly on both sides with an NBR.2. APPLICATIONThis s pecification was released originally as cylinder head gasket of the2 liter DOHC engine.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as desc

3、ribedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrar

4、ed and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms th

5、at correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll tests shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM F 104 type 7materia l unless otherwise specified. The requirements of thisspecifi cation are valid for gasket material of 0.35 to 0.60

6、 mmthickness. Test specimens are to be selected from finished gasketswhen practicable.Prior to testing, the m aterial shall be conditioned for at least 4 hat 23 +/- 2 C in a closed chamber containing anhydrous calciumchloride as a dessicant . The air in the chamber shall be circulatedby gentle mecha

7、nical ag itation. 9、at 150 +/- 2 C) 3.7.1 DelaminationTest Method: Firmly hold the sample at one point on acircu lar mandrel of diameter 6.0 mm thickness and forceslowly but firmly under finger pressure to contact the fulldiameter of the mandrel. 13、 color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the propos

14、ed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions ar

15、edefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from

16、 theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l co

17、mpliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended process and/or application. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.
