This specification cover8 the requirements of rigid plastic polyamide (ny- lon) molded and cast parts, rods, tubing, bushing stock, tubular bar, and flats for mechani
3、cal and electrical applications. 1.2 Classification. The polyamide rods, tubes, flats, molded and cast parts cov- ered by this specification shall be furnished ia the following composition as specified (see 6.2). Polyhexamethylene adipamide, (n.ylon 6/6). Polycaprolactam, (nylon 6). Monomer cast, (n
4、ylon 6). Polyhexcmethylene sebacamide, (nylon 6/10), low moisture absorption polya- mide. 1.2.1 Electrhl ghde. Polyhexamethy- lene sebacamide, (nylon 6/10) shall also be classified as electrical grade when control of its electrical properties is required (see 3.5.1 and 6.2). 1.2.2 The polyamide spec
5、ified in 1.2 shall be furnished filled or unfilled as follows and as specified by the procuring activity (see 6.2). Natural, with or without fillers. Weather resistant. Wear resistant. Bushing stock shall have the ir?side and outside diameters spec- ified .in the contract or purchase order (see. 6.2), and shall b.e capable of being machine finished to the inside diameter so specified, and shall have a. minimum wall thickness at any point around the circumference as fol- lo

The polyamide items furnished under this specification shall be free from blisters, cracks, checks, foreign inclusions, scratches, voids, or any other surface or internal defect which may detri- mentally affect serviceability or
21、 appearance. Similarly shaped items shall be uniform in color and finish. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROW- SIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or pur- chase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection require- ments as specified
22、herein. Except as other- wise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Govern- ment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed neces- sary to assure
23、 that supplies and services conform to precribed requirements. 4.2 Sampling for inspection. Sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with the provisions set forth in MIESTD- 105, except where otherwise indicated. 4.2.1 Inspection of materials and compo- nents. In accordance with 4.1,
24、 of the speci- fication, the supplier is responsible for in- suring that materials and components used were manufactured, tested, and inspected in accordance with the requirements of ref- erenced subsidiary specifications and stand- ards to the extent specified. In the event of conflict, this specif
25、ication shall. govern. 4.3 Inspection of the end item. 4.3.1 Examination of the end item. Exam- ination of the end item shall be made in ac- cordance with the classification of defects, inspection levels, anld acceptable quality lev- els (AQLs) set forth below. The lot size, for purpose of determini

An examination in accordance with table XIII shall be made to determine that packaging, packing, and marking shall com- ply with the requirements set forth in sec- tion 5. The sample

40、ts. Lot acceptance tests shall be made on each lot of material furnished and shall be the basis for accept- ance or rejection of the lot. Lot acceptance tests shall consist of all the test require- ments of tables I and II for the same poly- amide composition and the applicable re- quirements of tab
41、le III. Electrical grade ma- terial shall conform to all the tests listed in table IV, in addition to the appkable re- quirements of nylon 6/10 in tables I and II. If the average value obtained for any test fails to meet the requirements of this spec- ification, the lot represented by the teat speci

Unless otherwise spec- ified herein, all specimens shall be tested in accordance with the applicable test meth- ods of Fed. Te
43、st Method Std. No. 406. The reported results shall be the average of the values obtained for that particular test. In- dividual test values shall not deviate by more than zk 15 percent of the average value, except for elongation values which shall not deviate by more than minus 15 percent. 4.4.1 Pre
44、paration of test specimens. The number of samples required for the raw material tests shall be selected either from he powder or pellets and tested in that form or molded into test specimens, as ap- plicable, or shall be selected from the sam- ple units of 4.3.1 and used either as drillings, milling
45、s, or shavings or machined into test specimens as applicable. For cast nylon 6, specimens shall be prepared from a stand- ard. s1a.b by direct chemical reaction. For the other tests, the specimens shall be prepared from the sample units of 4.3.1 in the man- ner described in the particular test metho
46、d. When more than one specimen is required for any test, the specimens shall be taken from diffcfent sample units of 4.3.1 except that when more than three specimens are required, at, least three sample units shall be used and not more than $wo specimens for a particular test shall be taken from eac
47、h. 4.4.1.1 Conditioning. Test specimens for melting point and specific gravity shall be tested as received without conditioning. Test specimens for relative viscosity, tensile strength and elongation of tables I, II, and III and all the test specimens for require- ments of table II shaIl be dried un
48、der vac- uum as specified in 4.4.5. Unless otherwise specified, all other test specimens shall be conditioned in accordance with section IV of Fed. Test Method Std. No. 406. 4.4.2 The following tests shall be made in accordance with the applicable methods specified in table XIV, and 4.4.3 through 4.
