Samples are furnished solely for guidance and information to the supplier (see 6.3). Variation from this specif
8、ication may appear in the sample, in which case the specification shall govern. 3.2 First article. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2) before production is commenced, a sample of each type of finished laminated cloth contracted for . shall be submitted,-or made available to the contracting officer
9、or his authorized representative for approval. 2-1/2-yard sample of each of the basic materials, a 5-1/2-yard, full width, sample of the type I finished laminated cloth or a 4-yard sample of the type II finished laminated cloth, as applicable, The approval of the first article authorizes the commenc
10、ement of production, but does not relieve the supplier of responsibility for compliance with all provisions of the specification. The first article shall be manufactured by the supplier in the same facilities to be used for the manufacture of the production items. The first article should consist of
11、 a 3.3 Materials. 3.3.1 Basic material. The basic materials shall be cotton conforming to the following: (a) Type I. The outer material shall conform to type III, class 3 of CCC-C-446 and the inner material shall conform to type II, class 2 of CCC-C-446 except nonfibrous materials and colorfastness
12、requirements do not apply. In addition, both materials shall meet the requirements specified in 3.3.1.1 through 3.3.1.4.1. (b) Type II. When specified (see 6.21, the basic materials shall
19、be made mildew resistant by impregnation with 1.50 20.25 percent 2,2 methylene (bis-4-chlorophenol) (dihydroxydichlorodiphenylmethane), using a two-bath aqueous or solvent application as specified in Section 4, Table III. The treated base material shall not lose more than 10 percent of its breaking
20、strength in the warp direction when tested as specified in Section 4, Table III. 3.3.1.4 Color. suitable for assuring conformance to the color of the finished material specified in 3.4. The basic material shall be vat dyed a shade of green 3.3.1.4.1 Colorfastness. The dyed material shall show good f
21、astness to laundering, bleaching, perspiration and crocking and fastness to light after 40 standard fading hours, when tested as specified in Section 4, Table III. 3.3.2 Coating and combining compound. The compound used for coating and combining the outer and inner materials shall be made from natur
22、al or synthetic rubber. A certificate of compliance shall be submitted by the supplier to the contracting officer stating that these requirements have been met. Reclaimed rubber shall not be used. 3.4 Design and construction. When combining the basic materials to form type I or type II lamhated mate
23、rial, the applicable basic materials shall be combined back to back with coating between the plies, with the twill and sateen side facing away from the coating, then vulcanized. material shall be free of coating and the color shall be OG 107 conforming to the standard shade sample (see 6.3) when tes

The occurrence of defects Shall not- exceed the applicable- acceptable quality levels (AQLs). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the co
29、ntract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements speci
30、ied herein, unless disapproved by the Government. the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. The Government reserves 4.1.1 Certificate of compliance. Where
31、certificates of compliance are permitted, the Government reserves the right to check test such items to determine the validity of the certification. 4.2 Inspection. Inspection shall be in accordance with the provisions set forth in MIL-STD-105, except when otherwise indicated herein. 4.2.1 First art
32、icle inspection. When first article is required, it shall be visually inspected for appearance and color. tested for physical and chemical properties in accordance with 4.3. 39、X X X X X x 4.2.3.3.1 Individual roll for length and width. The sample unit shall be one roll. The number of rolls to be examined and the acceptance number shall be in accordance with 4.2.3.1. The following shall be considered a defect: (a) Any roll (gross length) less than 40 yards. (b) Any roll (g
40、ross length) more than 2 yards less than gross length marked on ticket. (cl Any piece less than 10 yards. (d) Any roll containing more than two pieces. The rolls examined shall be those selected for examination of individual rolls as specified in 4.2.3.3.1. The lot shall be unacceptable if the total of the gross lengths of the rolls in Lhe sample is less
42、than the total. of the gross lengths marked on the tickets. 4.2.4 Examination of preparation for delivery requirements. An examination shall be made in accordance with the provisions of PPP-P-1136 to determine compliance with packaging, packing and marking requirements of Section 5 of this specifica
43、tion. 4.3 Testing of the end item. End item testing shall be in accordance with Table IV. The methods of testing specified in Table IV shall be in accordance with FED-STD-191. average of determinations made on a sample unit for test purposes as specified in the applicable test method. 1 linear yard.
