9、.3 Color. - Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the tubing shall be natural in coldr. Natural tubing can vary from a water white to a straw yellow and range in transparency from translucent to opaque. Colored tubing shall conform to Standard MIL-STD-104. 3.2 Property values.- The tubing shall conf
10、orm to the property values specified in table I. 3.3 Dimensions and tolerances. - 3.3.1 Lengths. - Unless otherwise specified, the footage of tubing on a reel or in a coil shall conform to table II (see 6.2). 33.2 Inside diameters and wall thicknesses. - Unless otherwise specified, tubing shall be f
11、urnished in the standard inside diameters and wall thicknesses shown in table III as specified (see 6.2). 3.3.3 Concentricity. - The minimum percent concentricity of the tubing, whendetermined as specified in 4.5.2, shall be 70 percent. .- 3.4 Workmanship. - The material shall be manufactured and pr
12、ocessed in a careful and workmanlike manner, in accordance with good practice. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for th performance of all inspection requirement
17、s a8 specified herein. The Government reserves the right to per- form any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Sampling for acceptance inspection. - 4.2.1 E,- A lot of tub
18、ing shall consist of all tubing of the same size offered for delivery at the same time. 4.2.2 Sampling for visual and dimensional examination. - Sample reels or coils of tubing shall be se- lected in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-105 at inspection level II from each lot for the visual and dimensi

The mnimum quantity taken from each sample reel or coil shall be 32 feet. Y 4.3 Ac
23、ceptance inspection. - 4.3.1 Visual and dimensional examination. - Each sample selected in accordance with 4-2.2 shall be visually and dimensionally examined to verify conformance with the requirements in 3.1, 3.3 and 3.4. Any reel or coil having one or more defects shall be rejected, It the number

25、om IHS-,-,-MIL-I-22129c r. 4.3.2 Acceptance tests. - The three samples selected in accordance with 4.2.3 shall be subjected to the tests specitied in table IV. Results shall be averaged for each sample to determine conformance with this specification. If one or more of the samples fail one or more o
26、f the tests, the entire lot shall be re- jected. 4.3.3 Reports of acceptance inspection. - Three copies of the acceptance .inspection report shall be forwarded to the bureau or agency concerned. 4.4 Conditioning.- The tubing shall be conditioned before being tested, as specified in table I. 4.4.1 Eq
27、uipment.- Conditioning chambers and baths shall be such as to maintain the specified tem- perature plus or minus 2OC. and the specified relative humidity plus or minus 2 percent. 4.4.2 Designation. - Conditioning procedures shall be designated as follows: (a) A capital letter indicating the general
28、condition of the specimen; that is, humidity, immersion, (b) A number indicating in hours the duration of the conditioning. (c) A number indicating in degrees centigrade the conditioning temperature. cd) A number indicating relative humidity whenever relative humidity is controlled. (Relative and te
29、mperature conditioning. . humidity obtained over calcium chloride shall be taken as zero.) 32、ge during shipment from the supply source to the using activity, and until early installation. 5. l. l. 2 Packing. - Packing shall be accomplished in a manner which will itsure acceptance by common carrier and will afford protection against physicai or .mechanical damage during direct shipment from

34、er carrier reguiations as appli- ._. cable to the mode of transportation. 5. l. l. 3 Marking. - Shipment marking information shall be provided n interior packages and exterior shipping containers ir! accordance with the contractors commercial practlce. The information shall include nomenclature, Fed

(5.2.1 Thc following provides various levels of protection during domestic shipment and storage or overseas shipmefit, which may be required when procurement is made by a Government activity (see 6.2). 5.2.1.1 Packaging.- 5.2.1.1.1 Level A.- Tubing furnished on reels or in coil for
37、m shall be processed as follows: 5.2.1.1. l. 1 Reels. - Reels shall be individually wrapped in not less than 30-pound basic weight kraft paper and stxqrtly sealedwith minimum 2-inch wide tape confcrmingtoSpecification UU-T-116, The tape shall be applied in such lengths that it will completely encirc
38、le the reel and lap itself at least 2 inch.es. 5.2. l. l. 1 2 Coils. - Coils shall be completely wrapped with krait paper and secured by taping, tying, 5.2. l. l. 1.3 Alternatively, reels of tubkgmay be individually packaged in a pladc film-. Bag or other suitable means. closure shall be effected by
39、 heat sealhg, adhesive, or other suitable means. 5.2.1.1. !. 4 Unit containers. - Reels or coils shall be further packaged in folding or Set-up paper- board Or fiber boxes conforming to Specification PPP-B-566, PPP-B-676, or PPP-B-836, respectively, at . the option of the contractor. 41、rlaid, or wood-cleated plywood boxes conforming to Specification PPP-B-591, PPP-8-621, PPP-B-S85, PPP-B-636 (class 2), PPP-B-576, or PPP-B-601, respectively, at the opticn of the contractor. Udess otherwise specified (set? 6.2), shipping containers shall have case hers conforming to Specification Ma
42、- L-10537, and shall be closed and sealed in accordance with the appendix thereto. Case liners for boxes conforrcing to Specification PPP-B-636 may be omitted, provided all center and edge seams and manufac- turers joint are waterproofed with tap in accordance with the appendix to Specification PPP-
43、B-636. Boxes shall be closed and strapped in accordance wXh the applicable box specification or appendix thereto. The gross weight of wood or wmd-cleated boxes shall not exceed 200 pounds; fiber boxes shall not exceed the weight limitations of the applicable box specification. 5.2.1.2.2 Level B. - R

NOTES 6.1 Intended use. - The tubin
47、g covered by this specification is intended for applications involving high -I . temperature, high frequencies, or both. Tubing covered by this specification possesses excellent electrica! properties which remain practically constant over a wide range of frequencies, temperatures, and humiditie and
48、has a very low loss factor. Except in well defined special applications the tubing should not be used at . temperatures in excess of 275C. 6.2 Ordering data. - Procurement documents should specify the following: (a) Title, number, and date of this specification. (b) Color, if required (see 3. l. 3).
49、 (c) Dimensions required (see 3.3): (1) Number of fett required. (2) Number of feet in single reel or coil (see 3.3.1). (3) AWG size number (see 3.3.2). (4) Nominal wall thickness (see 3.3.2). 5.1 (see 5.2).
