(b) Amplifier-battery assembly. . (c) Repair parts kit (with repair park and accessories). 3.4.1 Weights and dimensions. - The

16、maximum weights and dimensions of the equipment shall be as follows : (a) Electric megaphone. - Weight - 5-1/2 pounds. Height - 13-1/2 inches. Length - 14-1/2 inches. Horn mouth diameter - 12-1/2 inches. Weight - 22-1/2 pounds. Height - 12 inches. Length - 10-1/2 inches. Width - 6-1/2 inches. Weight

17、 - 70 pounds. Height - 9 inches. Length - 22 inches. Width - 14 inches. () Amplifier battery assembly (complete with amplifier and battery). - (c) Repair paris kit (with repair parts and accessories). - 3.4.1.1 Minor dimensional changes that do not involve changes in component volumes may be made. I

18、- 3.4.2 Electric megaphone. - The electric megaphone assembly shall consist of the following integral components: (a) Microphone and microphone housing. () Horn assembly. (c) Operating handle. (d) Carrying handle. (e) Connecting cable. 3.4.2.1 Microphone housing. - The microphone housing is the rear

19、 metal detachable portion of the megaphone assembly and shall consist of the following parts: (a) Gab control. (II) Rubber mouthpiece. (c) Microphone screen. (d) Connecting cable entrance. 3.4.2.1.1 The microphone housing shall be watertight, and shall be attached by means of screws threaded into me

(d) Driver head plate, and annular plug (if required). 3.4.2.2.1 Horn unit. - The horn unit may be either of a straight or re-entrant design. 3. 4. 2. 2.2 Magnet structure. - ,The magnet struct

27、ure shall be of the ?W? type. 3.4.2.2.2.1 Air gap clearance. - Mirhum air gap clearance on either side of the voice coil assembly shall be O. 007 inch. 3.4.2.2.2.2 Serviceability. - Removal of the magnet structure as a unit together with the voice coil and diaphragm assembly shall not expose the mag

28、netic gap. 3.4.2.2.3 Voice coil and diaphragm assembly. - The voice coil and diaphragm assembly shall be readily replaceable without necessitating cementing or soldering. . 3.4.2.2.3.1 Protection and positioning. - The voice coil and diaphragm assembly shall be provided with facilities which perform

29、 the following functions: (a) Permit accurate and positive positioning of the voice coil in the air gap. (b) Prevent damage to the voice coil while being inserted into or removed from the magnet (c) Prevent damage to the voice coil if assembly is laid on a flat surface. (d) Permit insertion into the

30、 air gap in only one position. structure. 3.4.2.2.3.2 Diaphragm material. - The diaphragm shall be of a molded phenolic material. 3.4.2.2.4 Driver head plate and annular plug assembly. - The driver head plate and annular plug assembly is that part of the driver unit to which the magnetic structure i

31、s secured. The assembly shall be of molded phenolic material. The use of an annular plug is optional. and microswitch. 36、hielded, twisted, stranded conductors shall emerge from the microphone housing and shall terminate in a plug suitable for connection to the amplifier-battery cabinet. 3.4.2.5.1 Connecting cable attachment. - The connecting cable shall be securely attached to the rear housing. 3.4.3 Amplifier-battery

37、 assembly. - The amplifier-battery assembly shall consist of the following components: (a) Amplifier-battery cabinet. (b) Audio amplifier unit. (c) Battery supply. 3.4.3.1 Amplifier-battery cabinet. - The amplifier-battery cabinetshall consist of two individual enclosures and a separator which when

38、latched together form one unit. battery cabinet which serves as the enclosure for the audio amplifier unit. The bottom of the amplifier section shall be open when the cabinet is disassembled. When assembled with the separator, the amplifier section shall be watertight. 3.4.3.1.2 Battery section. - T

39、he battery section shall be the lower portion of the amplifier-battery cabinet which serves as the enclosure for the battery. The top of the battery section shaL1 be open when the cabinet is disassembled. When assembled with the separator the battery section shall be splashproof in accordance with S

40、tandard MILSTD-108. 3.4.3.1.1 Amplifier section, - The amplifier section shall be the upper portion of the amplifier- 3.4.3.1.3 Cabinet separator. - The cabinet separator shall consist of the base of the amplifier section and the top of the battery section separated a distance of at least 1/4 inch b

41、y four or more spacing studs. Studs shall also be provided to enable the transfer of energy between the amplifier and battery sections, The separator shall be so arranged that there will be no available path between the amplifier and battery sections for the transfer of hydrogen gas that does not in

42、clude passage through the atmosphere. Substantial terminals shall be located on the top of the battery section for connection to the battery terminals and a two- bladed spring type connector receptacle shall be mounted on the amplifier base portion for connection of the 6-volt supply to the amplifie

43、r. 3.4.3. 1.4 Amplifier section facilities. - 3.4.3.1.4.1 Meqaphone receptacle. - A receptacle, cannon shell type GK, or equivalent, shall be 3.4.3.1.4.2 Remote microphone and charging receptacle. - A second receptacle cannon shell type GK, provided on the amplifier section to accommodate the megaph

44、one cable plug. or equivalent, shall be provided on the amplifier section to accommodate both the charging able plug and the remote microphone cable plug. This receptacle shall have either a different pin configuration than the megaphone receptacle or, should the pin configuration be identical, the

46、trol shall be provided on the amplifier sec- tion for controllins the output of the system when employing the remote microphone. The action of this . control shall be specified in 3.5.6, 3.4.3.1.4.3.1 Knob adjustment. - A knob shall be provided on the gain control shaft to provide for use in adjusti

47、ng the output of the system. 3.4.3.1.4.4 Instruction plate. - An instruction plate explaining operating technique for the system shall be provided on the amplifier section. 3.4.3.1.4. 5 Location of facilities. - The two receptacles, the gain control knob, and the instruction plate shall be located a

48、t one end of the amplifier section. The receptacles shall be mounted side by side near the top of the enclosurewith the control knob in between. The instruction plate shall be mounted below the receptacles. The usage of each facility shall be identified by the marking of a plate or plates adjacent t

49、o the facility. 3. 4.3.1.4.6 Carrying handle. - A carrying handle shall be provided on the top of the amplifier section. 3. 4.3.1,4. 6.1 Carrying handle fastening attachment. - The handle shall lie flat on the top of the ampli- fier section when the megaphone assembly is attached to the amplifier section. The handle shall be spring loaded to hold it in place. shall be provided on top of the amplifier section to match with the mounting wedge on the megaphone handle. 3.4.3.
