ScopeThis SAE Recommended Practice applies to cranes when used in lifting crane ser

5、vice which areequipped with rope drum rotation indicating devices.1.1 PurposeThe purpose of this recommended practice is to establish the minimum performance requirementsfor devices used to indicate to the crane operator by visual, audible, or tactile means the movement of a ropedrum.2. Definitions3.1 Rope Drum Rotation Indiciating Device (hereafter called Device)A device used to indicate to the craneoperator by visual, audible, or tactile means the movement of a rope drum.4. Minimum Performance Criteria4.1 The device sensor is

7、 to monitor rope drum movement to identify and transmit this information to the craneoperator by using one or more of the following methods:4.1.1 VISUAL INDICATIONThe visual indication is to be clearly distinguishable to the operator.4.1.2 AUDIBLE INDICATIONThe audible signal is to be clearly distin

8、guishable to the operator from the noise of theengines, machinery, and any other audible warning device.4.1.3 TACTILE INDICATIONThe tactile indicator is to be located so that the crane operator may monitor drumrotation while operating the controls.4.1.4 None of the above indications shall cause oper

9、ator discomfort or cause any operational hazard.4.2 The Device is to be sufficiently responsive to indicate initial drum rotation producing rope travel of 50 mm(2 in). The Device is to differentiate rope speeds less than 1 m/s and will accommodate all speedsrecommended by the crane manufacturer.SAE

11、tablish compliance with 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4.5. General Requirements5.1 Installation and MaintenanceInstallation and maintenance of the Device is to be in accordance with themanufacturers recommendation to attain performance consistent with minimum requirements (Section 4).5.2 IdentificationA label, wh
