22、 apply. 3.1 acceptable acceptable to the authority administering this standard, or to the parties concluding the purchase contract, as relevant 3.2 liquor ratio volume of liquor, expressed in millilitres (mL) to mass of the test specimen, expressed in grams (g) 4 Requirements 4.1 General 4.1.1 The b
23、ase fabric shall, when visually examined in accordance with 6.1, a) be made in accordance with sound manufacturing practice from continuous-filament nylon or polyester yarns; SANS 1585:2008 Edition 2.1 5 b) be dyed and heat-set; c) be free from substances that can have a deleterious effect on the co
24、ating and, when relevant, on the proofing compound(s); d) be uniformly coated on one or both sides as required (see annex A); and e) if required, be proofed on one or both sides (see annex A). The type of coating and proofing compound shall be as agreed upon (see annex A). NOTE Information on the ch
25、aracteristics of base fabrics suitable for use in the manufacture of coated fabrics is given in annex B. 4.1.2 The coated fabric shall, when visually examined in accordance with 6.1, a) be of acceptably uniform make, width, colour and finish; b) have an acceptable odour; and c) be delivered in a cle
26、an and commercially dry condition. 4.2 Selvedges The selvedges shall, when visually examined in accordance with 6.1, be straight and either evenly woven or of the split or fringe type. 4.3 Width The minimum width between selvedges, conspicuous stenter pin holes, tuck-backs or fringes of shuttleless-
27、loom fabrics, or between the edges of the coating, as relevant, shall, when measured in accordance with 6.1, be 88 cm, 148 cm or 183 cm, as required (see annex A). 4.4 Piece length Each piece shall, when measured in accordance with 6.1, comply with the appropriate requirements for piece length given
28、 in 4.4.3 of SANS 1270:2007. 4.5 Colour The colour of the surface of the fabric that is to be used as the outer surface of the subsequent article shall, when visually examined in accordance with 6.1, be an acceptable match, in terms of SANS 10076-6, to the colour required (see annex A). 4.6 Coated f
29、abric The coated fabric shall be of one of the types given in table 1, as required (see annex A), and shall comply with the appropriate requirements given in the table. NOTE 1 Information on the typical end-uses for types of coated fabric is given in annex C. NOTE 2 Information on the quality verifi

35、ng in accordance with 6.16, the coated surface(s) shall not show any appreciable change in pliability or evidence of separation of the coating from the base fabric, and shall not have become tacky or have been otherwise adversely affected in appearance or serviceability. 36、 4.8 Resistance to fungal attack When a fabric with a fungal-resistant finish is required (see annex A) and is tested in accordance with 6.17, the coated surface(s) shall not show any signs of fungal growth or any appreciable change in pliability or have been otherwise adversely affected in appearan
37、ce or serviceability. 4.9 Water-vapour transfer When a water-vapour-permeable coating is required in the case of fabrics for rainwear (see annex A), the water-vapour transfer of the coated fabric, determined in accordance with 6.18, shall be at least 1 900 g/m2per 24 h. 4.10 Peeling strength of seam
38、-sealing tape 4.10.1 When a seam-sealing tape is required for use in conjunction with coated fabric for rainwear (see annex A), the peeling strength of the tape, determined in accordance with 6.19, shall be at least 5 N per centimetre width of the tape. 4.10.2 It is the responsibility of the supplie
39、r of the coated fabric to provide laboratory samples of the seam-sealing tape sealed to the coated side of the fabric for testing. NOTE Advice on the type and method of application of seam-sealing tape(s) for coated fabrics for rainwear is given in annex E. 4.11 Defects The assessment and stringing
40、of defects (see 6.1) and the deductions to be made for strung and unstrung defects shall be in accordance with SANS 10076-6 and shall be based on the LAQs given in table 2. 41、ng and inspection shall be established by the responsible test authority and the manufacturer to assure a reasonable and acceptable reliability at a reasonable and acceptable confidence level that blankets certified as being compliant with this standard, are compliant. 6 Inspection and methods of te
42、st 6.1 Inspection After checking for compliance with the relevant requirements of clause 7, visually examine and then measure each piece in the sample for compliance with the relevant requirements given in 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 and 4.11, using SANS 82 and SANS 84 to measure the width and
43、length respectively. SANS 1585:2008 Edition 2.1 8 6.2 Conditioning Condition the laboratory samples in accordance with SANS 70. Measure the width of the laboratory sample in accordance with SANS 81 before cutting from each the test specimens required for the tests given in 6.3 to 6.19 (inclusive). 6
44、.3 Fibre composition Use AATCC method 20 after the removal, if necessary, of the coating(s). Check for compliance with 4.1.1 (a) and table 1. 6.4 Weave Determine the weave by visual examination and physical analysis. Check for compliance with table 1. 6.5 Mass per area Use SANS 79. Check for complia
45、nce with table 1. 6.6 Breaking strength Use SANS 1421. Check for compliance with table 1. 6.7 Retained breaking strength after weathering Use SANS 1421 on test specimens that have been exposed to weathering for a period of 200 h in accordance with SANS 481. Record the value in newtons. Check for com
46、pliance with table 1. 6.8 Tearing strength Use SANS 13937-4, but use a test specimen of size 180 mm 150 mm and make the width of each tongue 50 mm. Report the mean of the highest peak values as the tearing strength. Check for compliance with table 1. Amdt 1 6.9 Water resistance (variable head test)
47、Use SANS 5266 on separate test specimens: as received; that have been exposed to weathering in accordance with SANS 481 for a period of 200 h; that have been subjected to dry cleaning in accordance with procedure B of SANS 6026:2005, but using white spirit as the solvent and omitting the steam press
48、ing of the test specimens, that have been subjected to accelerated aging in accordance with SANS 5415; that have been abraded in accordance with 6.11; and that have been boiled in distilled water, at a liquid ratio of 50:1, in a suitable container, for 30 min. Check for compliance with table 1. SANS
49、 1585:2008 Edition 2.1 9 6.10 Water resistance (spray test) Use SANS 5300, on the proofed side of the fabric. Check for compliance with table 1. 6.11 Abrasion resistance Use SANS 6009, but clamp the fabric on the baseplate of the abrasion machine, with the coated side uppermost, and clamp the standard cross-bred worsted abradant fabric in the specimen holder. Abrade the fabric for either 5 000 rubs in the case of types C140 and C245 or 10 000 rubs in the case of type C290, under an applied pressure of 9 kPa. Vi
