14、09 Edition 1 3 Geographic information Addresses Part 1: Data format of addresses 1 Scope This standard specifies and defines the data elements, as well as the address types that can be constructed from the data elements for South African addresses. The standard further defines terms and definitions

15、related to addresses in South Africa. This standard is applicable to addresses covering the whole of South Africa. The standard applies to addresses that describe the physical location of a point of service delivery, and that could be geo-referenced. The standard includes definitions for address typ

16、es that are assigned by the official address issuing body (such as the street address type), as well as address types that are commonly in use (such as the farm and informal address types). 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this docume

These attributes are not part of the actual address but provide additional information a

29、bout the address. Even though this is a form of metadata, the attributes do not replace metadata as specified in SANS 1878-1 but rather complement it. The name shall be used unless the system cannot accommodate names longer than ten characters in which case the short name may be used. Annex A has a

This identifier together with the resource provider (see 4.3.4) provides

45、a unique reference for an address. This identifier shall remain the same, even if the coordinates change, spelling errors are corrected, the street name changes or the street number changes. Refer also to guidelines for address updates in SANS 1883-3. It is recommended that components of the identif

46、ier should not have implied meaning, such as the T for the SG Office or the IQ for the registration division in T0IQ00340000356200001. 4.3.3 Originator Definition The party who created the resource, i.e. a reference to the original source from where the resource provider obtained the data, and where
