29、 electrical signal into an optical signal, and vice-versa. It shall have integral fiber optic connector( s) or fiber optic pigtail connection( s) , in addition to specified accessible electrical input or output connections. NOTE 1: NOTE 2: NOTE 3: This encompassess a wide range of terminal devices;

30、however, in each case, the device shall have an integral fiber optic connector(s) or fiber optic pigtail( s) . Device examples include: (i) Discrete source or detector elements of a fiber optic system; (2) Fiber optic assemblies or modules consisting of various discrete component s/ el emen t s or i

31、ntegrated circuit techniques, or conventional printed circuit board construction; (3) Fully integrated versions of “(2)“. semiconductor devices, used as separate Additional functional classifications include: Transmitters (Tx), Receivers (Rx), and Repeaters having either digital or analog signal tra

32、nsmission capability. Pigtail Connection - A short length of optical fiber (typically less than 2m in length) permanently attached to the active optoelectronic element (e.g., PIN photo diode, laser diode, etc.) of the terminal device, and intended to be spliced or connected to a compatible fiber of

33、a fiber optic cable. Effective Optical Parameters - Terminal device optical parameters (e.g. , Tx optical output power, Rx sensitivity vs. wavelength, etc.) are specified and measured at the free end of a Standard Test Fiber, and not at a directly accessible optical port. The fixed end of this Stand

Standard Test Fiber - A fiber with tightly controlled and specified steady state parameters (e.g., NA, core diameter, index profile, and concentricity) and specified length which is coupled to the terminal de

The inspection levels and AQLs shall be selected from those given in ANSI 21.4. If required, more than one (QCI) schedule may be specified. 3.2.1 Certified Test Re

47、cords When certified test records are prescribed in the relevant specification and are requested by the purchaser, the following information shall be given as a minimum: (a) attribute information (i.e., number of components tested and number of defective components( s) ) for tests in the sub-groups
