A RPT may include an integral Class 2

4、 power supply with anintegral lead and/or connector(s) output. RPT are for use as a movable power supply connection for cordand plug connected electrical utilization equipment in accordance with the National Electric Code, NFPA70.3 Glossary3.2.1 CLASS 2 LEAD - Consists of a factory-made, power-limit

5、ed cable with a connector at one end. Theother end is secured within the housing or enclosure of the RPT. The connector is intended for connectionto the Class 2 separable interface.3.2.2 CLASS 2 SEPARABLE INTERFACE A separable component containing Class 2 low-voltageconnector(s) only (such as Univer

6、sal Serial Bus (USB) connector(s).3.11 RELOCATABLE POWER TAP (RPT) -p) Provided with an integral Class 2 lead and mating Class 2 separable interface, or an integralpower supply with one or more Class 2 output connector(s).11.1.7 Class 2 Lead11.1.8 A Class 2 lead may be one of the following types:a)

7、Type CL2 cable in accordance with the Standard for Power-Limited Circuit Cables, UL 13b) An appliance wiring material with a maximum length of 10 feet (3.5 m), minimum of 26 AWG,rated minimum VW-1 flammability and minimum 300 V, in accordance with the Standard forAppliance Wiring Material, UL 758.11

The “Class 2” and output electrical rating shall be permanently marked andvisible after installation.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:UL 1363 permits a relocatable power tap to employ a Class 2 power supp

13、ly with low-voltage (such as USBoutputs). The Standard does not address a Class 2 power supply with low-voltage connectors where thelow-voltage connectors extend from the relocatable power tap housing by an insulated lead. The strainrelief pull values are based upon present pull force values for sim
