7、CKNUT and intended for securement to boxeswith threaded entries or fittings with internal female threads (e.g., HUBs, conduit bodies, couplings) shallbe marked to identify its type of external threads, such as NPS, NPT, metric, “Straight, “S”, Tapered, T”“Fine”, “Course” or with equivalent wording.7

12、8.40 Tests on Male Threaded Fittings provided with a LOCKNUT and also intended for securement toenclosures with threaded entries or fittings with internal female threads (e.g., HUBs, conduit bodies,couplings)8.40.1 Male threaded fittings shall:a) comply with all applicable requirements for securing

13、conduit, cable, or tubing to an enclosure,box, raceway system, or another FITTING with the locknut as part of the male threaded fitting,and,b) comply with the applicable requirements associated with that fittings performance and usageclaims when assembling the secured conduit cable or tubing to one

14、or more of the followingassemblies based on the intended use as specified by the manufacturer:1) an enclosure with threaded knockouts,2) an enclosure with removable knockouts,3) fittings with internal female threads (e.g. HUBS, conduit bodies, couplings).8.40.2 Six samples of each trade size of a ma

15、le threaded fitting when assembled to any of the productsidentified in 8.40.1 (b1), (b2) or (b3) shall comply with:a) assembly test, Clause 8.11.3, followed by,b) resistance test, Clause 8.11.4, followed by,c) pull test, Clause 8.11.7.The same samples shall be used throughout the test sequence.8.40.

The requirements employ existing UL 514B requirements combined with newmarking requirements. The performance requirements are intended to be applied to t

33、he assembly of themale threaded fitting to an internally threaded mating product. The new markings ensure thatmanufacturers can properly identify the intended use of the externally threaded fittings and to provideinstallers and AHJs with the necessary information to easily determine the acceptabilit
