10、ding IEC standard.In its IEC-based standards, UL uses the notations indicated below to identify national difference type, andthese types are additionally noted in this document. The standard may not use all types of thesedeviations.D1 - These are deviations which are based on basic safety principles

11、 and requirements, elimination ofwhich would compromise safety for U.S. consumers and users of products.D2 - These are deviations based on safety practices. These are deviations for IEC requirements that maybe acceptable, but adopting the IEC requirements would require considerable retesting or rede

12、sign on themanufacturers part.DC - These are deviations based on the component standards and will not be deleted until a particularcomponent standard is harmonized with the IEC component standard.DE - These are deviations based on editorial comments or corrections.DR - These are deviations based on

13、the national regulatory requirements.Each national difference contains a description of what the national difference entails. Typically one of thefollowing words is used to explain how the text of the national difference is to be applied to the base IECtext:Addition / Add - An addition entails addin

14、g a complete new numbered clause, subclause, table, figure,or annex. Addition is not meant to include adding select words to the base IEC text.Deletion / Delete - A deletion entails complete deletion of an entire numbered clause, subclause, table,figure, or annex without any replacement text.Modific

17、rs, epilatorsand similar appliances intended for household and similar purposes, their RATED VOLTAGEbeing not more than 250 V and intended to be installed or used in accordance with NFPA70, National Electrical Code (NEC).Hair clippers and shavers incorporating a suction feature to collect clippings

18、or shavingsduring operation are also covered by this standard.1DV.2 D2 Modification of Note 104 of the Part 2 by the addition of the following dasheditems: lather makers (UL 499); barber shop vacuum cleaners for use on persons (UL 1017) manicure, pedicure, or personal grooming appliances used for si

19、milar purposes (UL 859). However, hairclipping and shaving appliances supplied with manicure, pedicure, or other similar attachments or accessoriesare investigated under these requirements and such additional requirements as are applicable to the applianceunder consideration. lasers and intense ligh

25、on shall be connectedto an independent 5,25 V dc, 8 A capacity DC source of supply unless otherwise indicated.If the appliance has a USB power delivery connection, the voltage shall instead be 21,5 Vor 1,05 times the declared operating voltage if less than 20 V. When it is stated that thesupply volt

26、age is the RATED VOLTAGE multiplied by a factor, this is disregarded for a CLASS IIIAPPLIANCE.6.1DV.1 D2 Replacement of the second paragraph of 6.1 of the Part 2 with the following:WASHABLE SHAVERS and WET SHAVERS shall be CLASS I, CLASS II or CLASS III.6.1DV.2 D2 Modification to add the following:C

27、LASS III APPLIANCES are allowed for appliances powered or charged via a USB connection.7.1DV.101 DR Modification to add the following:A CLASS 0, CLASS I or CLASS II appliance shall be rated for use on a 120 V branch circuit. TheRATED VOLTAGE shall be 115, 120 or 125 V or the RATED VOLTAGE RANGE shal

28、l include 120 V.7.10DV D2 Modification to add the following to 7.10 of the UL part 1:A manually operated motor-control switch for an appliance that indicates disconnectionfrom the mains, as required by 22.40DV, shall have a plainly identified OFF POSITION.7.12DV.1 D2 Modification to replace the firs

48、l surface.2) Unplug this appliance before filling. Use only cleaning solutionrecommended by the manufacturer. Do not overfill (or specify fillinginstructions).3) Use only liquid cleaning system provided or recommended bymanufacturer.4) Unless the cleaning solution is not considered to be flammable:

49、Thecleaning solution is flammable. Avoid flame, hot surfaces or smokingduring use. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a well-ventilated, coolarea.”7.12DV.3.3 This instruction in 7.12DV.3.2(d) does not apply to an appliance that operatesover a range of voltages and does not require adjustment by the user. For example, anappliance that uses a switch mode power supply intended for use over a range of voltagesand does not require adjustment by the user.7.12DV.3.4 The required important safety instructions, installation instructions, and user
