3、les, 2, 23, 44, 46, 47, 49Subject: Addition of Type YXTWuDECISION:4.1.4 Conductor assembly4.1.4.1 Lay of conductors4.1.4.1.1 Flexible cords with cabled conductors shall have the individual conductors twisted together witha length of lay not greater than that shown in Table 10. When cords covered in

4、Table 10 have mixedconductor sizes, the lay shall be based on the number of conductors and the largest conductor size foundin the cord. Constructions not covered in Table 10 shall have the individual conductors laid up so that thelay shall be not more than 15 times the overall diameter of the conduc

5、tor assembly. For CXTWu, YXTWu,CXWTc, and TXc, the lay shall not be more than 30 times the overall diameter of the insulated conductor.For multiple-layer cords, the conductors in each layer shall be twisted, but the lay is not specified, exceptthat in the outer layer the lay shall be not more than 1

6、5 times the overall diameter of that layer.4.1.4.1.2 Length of lay shall be determined in accordance with the test, Length of Lay (coveredcomponents), in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 2556, UL 2556, or NMX-J-516-ANCE.5.1.7 Weather resistance - all W cords and electric vehicle cablesAfter conditioning for 720 h

7、in a xenon arc weatherometer as described in the test, Weather (sunlight)resistant, in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 2556, UL 2556, or NMX-J-553-ANCE, the insulation on a specimen ofthe individual conductor of Types CXWTc, YXTWuand CXTWuand on finished Types PXWTc, SPT-1Wc,u,SPT-2Wc,u, and XTWuand the jacket of

8、 other Type W cords shall:(a) Show no cracks when wound one complete turn around a mandrel having a diameter asshown in Table 43 while at a temperature of -30C 1C for a period of 1 h. During the bending,the conditioned surface shall be opposite the surface contacting the mandrel. The specimenshall b

9、e allowed to rest 16 h to 96 h at room temperature before conducting the cold bend test.(b) Retain an average tensile strength and elongation of not less than 80%. Conditioned andunaged sets (five specimens each) shall be allowed to rest 16 h to 96 h at room temperature,followed by physical properti

10、es testing. 11、ns of finished unjacketed cords and specimens of theindividual conductors from jacketed cords and Types CXWTc, CXTWu, YXTWuand TXcare exposed to atemperature of 121C 2C for all temperature ratings of PVC and TPE rated at 60C, or 150C 2C forTPE rated in excess of 60C, for 1 h while wound six close tu

12、rns around a mandrel having a diameter asshown in Table 44. The specimen shall show no cracks when unwound from the mandrel after cooling toroom temperature.5.1.10 Tightness of insulation test5.1.10.1 The insulation of Types CXWTcand,CXTWuand YXTWushall be applied tightly to reduceslipping of the co

13、nductor in the insulation when each conductor is subjected to the procedure outlined inClause 5.1.10.2. The insulation on parallel cords other than Type TPT, shaver cordsu, NISPm,u, NISPEm,u,or NISPT cords shall be applied tightly to reduce slipping of the insulation when subjected to theprocedure o

14、utlined in Clause 5.1.10.3.5.1.10.2 Following the method described in Clause 5.1.10.4 and with the 1.81 kg (4 lb) weight andspecimen thus suspended for a period of 30 s, slipping of the conductor, separator, or combination thereofshall not exceed 3 mm (0.11 in). Measurement shall be made at the top

15、of the specimen at the point atwhich the bare conductor enters the insulation.5.1.10.3 Following the method described in Clause 5.1.10.4 and with the 3.63 kg (8 lb) weight andspecimen thus suspended for a period of 30 s, slipping of either single conductor, separator, orcombination thereof shall not

16、 exceed 3 mm (0.11 in). Measurement shall be determined from the pointwhere the conductor is cut off even with the insulation.5.1.10.4 Compliance with Clauses 5.1.10.2 and 5.1.10.3 shall be determined in accordance with the test,Tightness of insulation, in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 2556, UL 2556, or NMX-J-5

17、56-ANCE.5.1.20 Abrasion test for Types XTWuand CXTWu, YXTWu5.1.20.1 GeneralThe insulation on the 22 AWG size of Types XTWuand CXTWuwire and of the straightened individualconductors from finished Type CXTWucord shall not wear through to expose the conductor or conductorsin 400 or fewer cycles on any

18、of the specimens. The insulation on an YXTW wire shall not wear throughto expose the conductor in 600 or fewer cycles on any of the specimens.5.1.21.1 GeneralNo more than half the strands in any conductor in the 22 AWG size of Types XTWuand CXTWucord andwire shall be broken by 6000 cycles of the fle

19、xing. No more than half the strands in any conductor of aType YXTWuwire shall be broken by 9000 cycles of the flexing.5.1.21.5 ExaminationFollowing the completion of the 6000 appropriate number of cycles of flexing, the weights shall beremoved from the specimens. The wire or cord shall be cut open a
