When cords covered in
4、Table 10 have mixedconductor sizes, the lay shall be based on the number of conductors and the largest conductor size foundin the cord. Constructions not covered in Table 10 shall have the individual conductors laid up so that thelay shall be not more than 15 times the overall diameter of the conduc

During the bending,the conditioned surface shall be opposite the surface contacting the mandrel. The specimenshall b
9、e allowed to rest 16 h to 96 h at room temperature before conducting the cold bend test.(b) Retain an average tensile strength and elongation of not less than 80%. The specimen shall show no cracks when unwound from the mandrel after cooling toroom temperature.5.1.10 Tightness of insulation test5.1.10.1 The insulation of Types CXWTcand,CXTWuand YXTWushall be applied tightly to reduceslipping of the co
13、nductor in the insulation when each conductor is subjected to the procedure outlined inClause 5.1.10.2. The insulation on parallel cords other than Type TPT, shaver cordsu, NISPm,u, NISPEm,u,or NISPT cords shall be applied tightly to reduce slipping of the insulation when subjected to theprocedure o
14、utlined in Clause 5.1.10.3.5.1.10.2 Following the method described in Clause 5.1.10.4 and with the 1.81 kg (4 lb) weight andspecimen thus suspended for a period of 30 s, slipping of the conductor, separator, or combination thereofshall not exceed 3 mm (0.11 in). Measurement shall be made at the top
15、of the specimen at the point atwhich the bare conductor enters the insulation.5.1.10.3 Following the method described in Clause 5.1.10.4 and with the 3.63 kg (8 lb) weight andspecimen thus suspended for a period of 30 s, slipping of either single conductor, separator, orcombination thereof shall not
16、 exceed 3 mm (0.11 in). Measurement shall be determined from the pointwhere the conductor is cut off even with the insulation.5.1.10.4 Compliance with Clauses 5.1.10.2 and 5.1.10.3 shall be determined in accordance with the test,Tightness of insulation, in CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 2556, UL 2556, or NMX-J-5
17、56-ANCE.5.1.20 Abrasion test for Types XTWuand CXTWu, YXTWu5.1.20.1 GeneralThe insulation on the 22 AWG size of Types XTWuand CXTWuwire and of the straightened individualconductors from finished Type CXTWucord shall not wear through to expose the conductor or conductorsin 400 or fewer cycles on any

The insulation on an YXTW wire shall not wear throughto expose the conductor in 600 or fewer cycles on any of the specimens.5.1.21.1 GeneralNo more than half the strands in any conductor in the 22 AWG size of Types XTWuand CXTWucord andwire shall be broken by 6000 cycles of the fle
