、ith acorrosion protection system, so that there is no evidence of galvanic corrosion,4. The extinguisher shall not show any incipient corrosion on metal surfaces having noprotective coating or paint.NOVEMBER 17, 2006 SUBJECT 7 5UL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRI

、BUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL9.2 For the purposes of this requirement, the term incipient corrosion is defined as the first evidence ofthe destruction of the integrity of the surface of the material.9.3 The test specimens are to be supported vertically and exposed to salt spray (fog) as specifie

、d byANSI/ASTM B117. The apparatus used for salt-spray exposure is to consist of a fog chamber, 48 by 30by 36 inch inside dimensions, having a salt solution reservoir, a supply of suitably conditioned compressedair, a dispersing tower for producing a salt fog, specimen supports, provision for heating

、 the chamber, andnecessary means of control. The dispersion tower is to be located in the center of the chamber and is tobe supplied with salt solution and with warmed, humidified air at a pressure of 17 to 19 psig, so as todisperse the salt solution in the form of a fine mist or fog throughout the

、interior of the chamber. Thetemperature within the chamber is to be maintained between 92 and 97F (33.3 and 36.1C). Condensateaccumulation on the cover of the chamber is not to be permitted to drop on the test specimens, and dropsof the solution which fall from the specimens are not to be recirculat

、ed but are to be removed through adrain located in the floor of the chamber.9.4 The salt solution is to consist of 5 percent by weight of common salt (sodium chloride) and distilledwater.10 Handle Strength Test10.1 A sample is filled to its nominal capacity with water. A rope is attached to the bala

、nce point of thehandle leaving 12 inches of slack rope. Three drops are made on the sample during which it was allowedto fall freely through the 12 inches permitted by the rope. There is to be no sign of the handle cracking orloosening.11 Accelerated Air Oven Aging Test (Plastic Only)11.1 Whole tank
