Performance Criteria:1. The fan schedule indicates design cubic meter per minute (cubic feetper minute) and design stat

10、ic pressure. Scheduled fan motors, 375watts (1/2 horsepower) and larger, are sized for the maximum ofpresent or future design cubic meter per minute (cubic feet perminute) at 110 percent design static pressure, but not to exceed 187Pa (3/4 inch water gage) additional pressure.2. Fans and motors shal

11、l be capable of stable operation at designconditions cubic meters per minute (cubic feet per minute) and 110percent pressure as stated above.3. Lower than design pressure drop of approved individual components mayallow use of a smaller fan motor and still provide the safety factor.When submitted as

12、a deviation, a smaller motor may be approved in theinterest of energy conservation. Such a deviation shall not qualifyfor any value engineering incentive claim or reward.4. Select fan operating point to right hand side of peak static pressurepoint and near the peak of static efficiency.5. Operating

14、e and in shrinkwrapping to protect the unit from dirt, moisture and /or road salt.Shipping splits can be provided as required for installation. Liftinglugs will be supplied on each side of the split to facilitate riggingand joining of segments.SPEC WRITERS NOTE: For larger projectsinvolving more tha

15、n five roof top units,the A/E shall select a few typical RTUs,in different configurations, for aninitial submission. The suggesteddifferent configurations are:1. 100 percent outside air RTUs with orwithout heat recovery coils.2. Recirculating type of variable airvolume RTUs with minimum outside aira

16、nd economizer cycle features. Theremaining submission shall be receivedonly after the initial submission isapproved with satisfactory resolutionof all comments made during the reviewand approval process.1.4. SUBMITTALS:A. The contractor shall, in accordance with Section 01340, SAMPLE AND SHOPDRAWING

17、S, furnish a complete submission for all roof top units coveredin the project. The submission shall include all information listedbelow. Partial and incomplete submissions shall be rejected withoutreviews.B. Manufacturers Literature and Data:1. Submittals for RTUs shall include fans, drives, motors,

18、 coils, /humidifiers, / sound attenuators /, mixing box with outside/returnair dampers, filter housings, and all other related accessories. Thecontractor shall provide custom drawings showing total air handlingunit assembly including dimensions, operating weight, accesssections, / diffusion plates /

19、, flexible connections, door swings,controls penetrations, electrical disconnect, lights, duplexreceptacles, switches, wiring, utility connection points, unitsupport system, vibration isolators, drain pan, pressure dropsthrough each component (filter, coil etc) and rigging points.Submittal drawings

Contractor shall also submit performance data includingperformance test results, charts, curves or certified computerselection data; dat

21、a sheets; fabrication and insulation details; andthe number of pieces that each unit will have to be broken into tomeet shipping and job site rigging requirements. This data shall besubmitted in hard copies and in electronic version compatible toAutoCAD version used by the VA at the time of submissi

22、on.2. Submit sound power levels in each octave band for fan and at entranceand discharge of RTUs at scheduled conditions. Include soundattenuator capacities and itemized internal component attenuation.Internal lining of supply air ductwork with sound absorbing materialis not permitted. In absence of

23、 sound power ratings refer to Section15200, NOISE AND VIBRATION CONTROL.3. Provide fan curves showing cubic meters per minute (cubic feet perminute), static pressure, efficiency, and horsepower for design pointof operation and at maximum design cubic meters per minute (cubicfeet per minute) and 110

24、percent of design static pressure.4. Submit total fan static pressure, external static pressure, for RTUincluding total, inlet and discharge pressures, and itemizedspecified internal losses and unspecified internal losses. Refer toair handling unit schedule on drawings.C. Maintenance and operating m

General:1. Roof top units (RTU) shall be entirely of

33、 double wall galvanizedsteel construction. Casing is specified in paragraph 2.1.C. Foil facelining is not an acceptable substitute for double wall construction.Galvanizing shall be hot dipped conforming to ASTM A525 and shallprovide a minimum of 0.275 kg of zinc per square meter (0.90 oz. ofzinc per

34、 square foot) (G90). Aluminum constructed units may beprovided subject to VA approval and documentation that structuralrigidity is equal or greater than the galvanized steel specified.2. The contractor and the RTU manufacturer shall be responsible forinsuring that the unit will not exceed the alloca

35、ted space shown onthe drawings, including required clearances for service and futureoverhaul or removal of unit components. All structural, piping,wiring, and ductwork alterations of units, which are dimensionallydifferent than those specified, shall be the responsibility of thecontractor at no addi

36、tional cost to the government.3. RTUs shall be fully assembled by the manufacturer in the factory inaccordance with the arrangement shown on the drawings. The unit shallbe assembled into the largest sections possible subject to shippingand rigging restrictions. The correct fit of all components andc

37、asing sections shall be verified in the factory for all units priorto shipment. All units shall be fully assembled, tested and thensplit to accommodate shipment and job site rigging. On units notshipped fully assembled, the manufacturer shall tag each section andinclude air flow direction to facilit

38、ate assembly at the job site.Lifting lugs or shipping skids shall be provided for each section toallow for field rigging and final placement of unit.4. The RTU manufacturer shall provide the necessary gasketing, caulking,and all screws, nuts, and bolts required for assembly. Themanufacturer shall pr

39、ovide a local representative at the job site tosupervise the assembly and to assure the units are assembled to meetmanufacturers recommendations and requirements noted on thedrawings. Provide documentation that this representative has providedthis service on similar jobs to the Contracting Officer.

Gaskets: All door and casing and panel gaskets and gaskets betweenair handling unit co

41、mponents, if joined in the field, shall be highquality which seal air tight and retain their structural integrityand sealing capability after repeated assembly and disassembly ofbolted panels and opening and closing of hinged components. Boltedsections may use a more permanent gasketing method provi

42、ded they arenot disassembled.6. Structural Rigidity: Provide structural reinforcement when requiredby span or loading so that the deflection of the assembled structureshall not exceed 1/200 of the span based on a differential staticpressure of 1991 Pa (8 inches water gage) or higher.SPEC WRITER NOTE

43、: Contractor need notsupply supplemental steel if drawings callfor additional structure to mount the unithigh to accommodate cooling coilcondensate trap.B. Base:1. Provide a heavy duty / steel base / 100-150 mm (4-6 inch) mountinglegs / for supporting all RTU major components. Bases shall beconstruc

44、ted of wide-flange steel I-beams, channels, or minimum 125 mm(5 inch) high 3.5 mm (10 gauge) steel base rails. Welded or boltedcross members shall be provided as required for lateral stability. /Contractor shall provide supplemental steel supports as required toobtain proper operation heights for co

45、oling coil condensate draintrap and / steam coil condensate return trap / as shown on drawings/.2. RTUs shall be completely self supporting for installation on / roofcurb or / steel support pedestals /.3. The RTU bases not constructed of galvanized material shall becleaned, primed with a rust inhibi

46、ting primer, and finished with rustinhibiting exterior enamel.C. Casing (including wall, floor and roof):1. General: RTU casing shall be entirely double wall insulated panels,integral of or attached to a structural frame. Construction shall besuch that removal of any panel shall not affect the struc

49、nthe RTU.2. Use 50 mm (2 inch) thick panels unlesssound analysis indicates that thickerpanels are required. If thicker panelsare used they shall be of perforatedpanel type except for RTUs servingsurgical suites.2. Double wall galvanized steel panels, minimum 51 mm (2 inches) thick,constructed of minimum 1.3 mm (18 gauge) outer skin and 1.0 mm (20gauge) solid or perforated inner skin.
