39、 3862 Part 2 and Part 3 present meth-ods that allow aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes and ketones to be measured as individual components. The substances are converted to the corresponding hydrazones in impingers or cartridges with DNPH (2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine) in acetonitrile and quantified as i

The formaldehyde is con-verted in an alkaline medium (AHMT method) and not in an acid method as is the c
41、ase for the other known methods. This offers a number of advantages during the measurements, which exhibit cross sensi-tivities in the acid medium, e. g. with respect to uro-tropine.Guideline VDI 3862 Part 6 presents the acetylacetone method for formaldehyde determination in exhaust gases. The wet-c

This method is also used for the determination of formaldehyde concentrations in ambient
43、 and indoor air (see VD 3484 Part 2) and in test chambers (see DIN EN 717-1). Guideline VDI 3862 Part 7 describes a method that allows aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes and ketones to be measured individually. The substances are con-verted to the corresponding hydrazones in impingers with a hydrochlo

After separating the CCl4phase, which contains the hydrazone, and absorption in acetonitrile, the sample solution

This Part 5 presents a method that can be used specif-ically for the determination of lower aldehydes, in particular acrolein, but also formaldehyde and acet-aldehyde. The substances are converted to the corre-sponding oxazolidines in sampling tubes with 2-(hy-d
