22、 FOREWORD This amendment has been prepared by subcommittee 23B: Plugs, socket-outlets and switches, of IEC technical committee 23: Electrical accessories. The text of this amendment is based on the following documents: CDV Report on voting 23B/1166/CDV 23B/1186A/RVC Full information on the voting fo

23、r the approval of this amendment can be found in the report on voting indicated in the above table. The committee has decided that the contents of this amendment and the base publication will remain unchanged until the stability date indicated on the IEC website under “http:/webstore.iec.ch“ in the

24、data related to the specific publication. At this date, the publication will be reconfirmed, withdrawn, replaced by a revised edition, or amended. _ 1 Scope Replace the last but one paragraph, added by Amendment 1, by: Cable reels complying with this standard should be suitable for use at ambient te

25、mperatures not normally exceeding +40 C, but their average over a period of 24 h does not exceed +35 C, with a lower limit of the ambient air temperature of 5 C. 3 Definitions 3.24 Add the following note and source to the existing definition added by Amendment 1: NOTE The term “plug” covers plugs an

28、 and their connection 11.1 Replace the existing second paragraph, added by Amendment 1, by the following new paragraph: Detachable flexible cable shall be a cord extension set according IEC 60884-2-7 and comply with the relevant national standard taking into account other requirements of Clause 11 o

29、f this standard. 13 Components 13.1 Add after the third paragraph, added by Amendment 1, the following paragraph: Components according to IEC 60730-2-9 shall be of Type 1.D, 2.D, 1.E or 2.E. 20 Temperature rise under overload condition 20.1 Add after the first paragraph, added by Amendment 1, the fo

30、llowing paragraph: Where it is impossible to check the cut-out point of the protective means without rendering it inoperable, the current within the circuit is increased in 0,5 A steps, waiting for thermal stability between each increase. The current shall continue to be increased in this way until

31、either the thermal cut-out operates, or the temperatures exceed the limits specified, whichever occurs first. 23 Screws, current-carrying parts and connections 23.5 Replace the last paragraph by, added by Amendment 1, the following paragraphs: NOTE 1 Examples of suitable metals, when used within the

32、 permissible temperature range and under normal conditions of chemical pollution, are as follows: copper; an alloy containing at least 58 % copper for parts made from cold-rolled sheet or at least 50 % copper for other parts; stainless steel containing at least 13 % chromium and not more than 0,09 %

33、 carbon; steel provided with an electroplated coating of zinc according to ISO 2081, the coating having a thickness of at least 5 m, service condition ISO no. 1, for accessories classified IP code IPX0; 12 m, service condition ISO no. 2, for accessories classified IP code IPX4; 25 m, service conditi

34、on ISO no. 3, for accessories classified IP code IPX5 and IPX6; steel provided with an electroplated coating of nickel and chromium according to ISO 1456, the coating having a thickness of at least 20 m, service condition ISO no. 2, for accessories classified IP code IPX0; 30 m, service condition IS

35、O no. 3, for accessories classified IP code IPX4; 40 m, service condition ISO no. 4, for accessories classified IP code IPX5 and IPX6; steel provided with an electroplated coating of tin according to ISO 2093, the coating having a thickness of at least 12 m, service condition ISO no. 2, for accessor

36、ies classified IP code IPX0; 20 m, service condition ISO no. 3, for accessories classified IP code IPX4; 30 m, service condition ISO no. 4, for accessories classified IP code IPX5 and IPX6. 4 IEC 61242:1995/AMD2:2015 IEC 2015 Current-carrying parts which may be subjected to mechanical wear shall not

37、 be made of steel provided with an electroplated coating. Under moist conditions, metals showing a great difference of electrochemical potential with respect to each other shall not be used in contact with each other. Compliance is checked by a test which is under consideration. NOTE 2 The requireme
