Itdescribeshowtoreviewandevaluatethecontrolroomworkspace,instrumentation,controls, andotherequipmentfromahumanfactorengineeringpointofviewthattakesintoacco

21、unt bothsystemdemandsandoperatorcapab ilities.Inaddition,controlroomdesignmodifications thatcorrectinadequateorunsuitableitems,aretobeidentified,assessed,andimplemented. Thisstandardisintendedforapplicationtonewdesignsofthemaincontrolroomofnuclear powerplantsortobackfits(designrenewalanddesignmodifi

22、cations)toanexistingcontrol roomdesign.Inthelattercase,attentionshouldbegiventoidentifyingtheareasaffected.The standardshouldbeappliedtothoseareasandtotheirintegrationintothewholecontrolroom, takingintoaccounttherequirementsgiveninclause4andaccordingtothespecificationsof clause5. Thisstandardcanalso
