7、.Onesetof rulesisprovidedforacompletelyreversiblestringentconversionwhereprinciplesoftransliterationareappliedwithout exception. ThisRomanizedtransliterationsystemisameansofconvertingtheThaiwritingsystemintoaRomanalphabetwritingsystem. SincetherearefewerRomancharactersthanThaicharacters,diacriticalm

8、arks,punctuationmarks,andacombinationoftwo Romancharacters,oradigraph,areneededtorepresentoneThaicharacter.Theaimofthissystemistoprovideameansof internationalcommunicationofwrittenmessagesinaformwhichpermitstheautomatictransmissionorreconstitutionofthese bymenormachines.Thissystemofconversionisinten

9、dedtoprovidecompleteandunambiguousreversibility.Itispossible thattheresultsobtainedfromthissystemwillnotprovideforcorrectpronunciationoftheoriginalThaitext.However,they willserveasameansoffindingtheThaigraphismsautomaticallyandthustoallowanyonewithaknowledgeofThaito pronouncetheThaitextcorrectly.Ana

10、ttempttotransposeapreposedvowelafteraninitialconsonantmaycomfortthosewho areusedtotheRomanwritingsystemwhereavowelalwaysfollowsaconsonanttoformasyllable,unlessitisasyllable withoutaninitial.ItisbesttoleavethepreposedvowelintheThaitransliterationsystemwhereitis,becauseatransliter ation systemisnotatr

Capitallettersarereservedforwritingtheinitialinpropernouns.Itisunwisetomakeuseofcapitallettersinthe transliterationsystemforcertaincharacters,otherwisecommonnounsandpropernounscannotbedistinguishedfromone another. Thissystemisbasedonphoneticlogicintheselectionoftransliteratedrepre
