12、varies depending on the material, this International Standard gives only the co-ordinating sizes which can be supposed to be most frequently required. This International Standard specifies co-ordinating sizes for the length and width dimensions of rigid flat sheet boards used in building. This Inter

13、national Standard concerns rigid flat sheet boards such as : asbestos-cement boards, asbestos insulating boards, compressed straw building slabs, corkboard, expanded plastics, glass and mineral fibre boards, gypsum wallboard, fibre building boards (hard, medium, soft), metals (ferrous and non-ferrou

14、s), particle boards, blockboard, plywood, plastics laminates, laminboard, wood- wool slabs, which may be used as components. 2 FIELD OF APPLICATION This International Standard applies to rigid flat sheet boards for use in buildings of all types, with particular reference to those constructed on the

15、principles of modular co-ordination, in accordance with the IS0 documents listed in the Foreword. The sizes given are those for the length and width dimensions. Consideration of thickness would not normally be important from a dimensional co-ordination point of view but, should it be found necessary

16、 in certain cases, it will be made the subject of a further International Standard. 3 DEFINITIONS For the purpose of this International Standard, the definitions given in IS0 1791 and IS0 1803 shall apply. 4 SPECIFICATION This International Standard is intended for guidance; it is to The preferred c

17、o-ordinating sizes of rigid flat sheet boards be used as follows : shall be as follows, including any combinations of them : a) in International Standards in which work (manufacturing) sizes for boards are specified and which should refer to this International Standard; b) in national standards, whi

18、ch should also refer to this International Standard when applicable. Work sizes shall take account of joints and tolerances.
