This problem has been publicized by consumer safety organizations and is addressed in ASTM F444-

7、88, Standard Consumer Specification for Scald-Preventing Devices and Systems in Bathing Areas.This standard covers point of use temperature actuated, flow reduction (TAFR) valves that are installed in-line with, or integrated into, supply fittings. These valves automatically reduce discharge flow to

8、 a trickle if water temperature exceeds a preset limit. Other ASSE standards, such as ASSE 1016/ASME A112.1016/CSA B125.16, ASSE 1017, ASSE 1066, ASSE 1069, and ASSE 1070/ASME A112.1070/CSA B125.70, have been developed for hot and cold water mixing valves that limit discharge temperature, and in-lin

9、e pressure balancing valves that minimize pressure variations between the hot and cold water supplies. TAFR valves are not intended to be installed in place of devices complying with ASSE 1016/ASME A112.1016/CSA B125.16, ASSE 1017, ASSE 1066, ASSE 1069, or ASSE 1070/ASME A112.1070/CSA B125.70. ASSE

10、recommends that TAFR valves be installed in accordance with local code requirements by qualified individuals.Recognition is made of the time volunteered by the working group members who participated in the revision process, and of the support of manufacturers. This standard does not imply ASSEs endo

13、 the device is designed.4.3.2 The packaging or installation instructions for a device that is not integrated into a supply fixture shall include the following information.a) Maximum rated working pressure;b) Nominal device size; c) Direction of flow;d) Fitting classification (e.g. Bathtub, Bidet, et

14、c.) for acceptable applications, per section 1.2.3(b); ande) Minimum flow rate prior to actuation.4.3.3 Each device that is integrated into a supply fixture shall have the following information marked on the installation instructions for the supply fitting:a) Manufacturers name or trademark;b) Model

15、 number of the device; andc) Maximum actuation temperature for which the device is designed.4.3.4 Each device that is integrated into a supply fixture shall have the following information marked on the packaging of the supply fitting:a) Indication that the supply fitting contains a temperature actua

16、ted flow reduction valve; and b) Maximum actuation temperature for which the device is designed.4.3.5 The markings on the device shall be either etched, cast, molded, stamped, or engraved on the body of the device or on a corrosion resistant plate securely attached to the valve with a corrosion resi

Drawings or schematic sket

18、ches that would be useful to the installer shall be part of these instructions. These instructions shall provide all information necessary for correct installation.4.4.2 The installation instructions shall indicate the tested and approved installation position of the device.4.5 MaintenanceComplete i
