13、elative to the amount that would be present if the air were saturated at a specific temperature. 2.1.16 Storage: Equipment placed at a site for a period of time while packaged or unpackaged and not intended to be operated during the storage period. 2.1.17 Transportation: The loading, unloading, and

14、movement of network equipment from one place to another to accommodate installation in the network. 2.1.18 Transportation Vibration: The vibratory stresses related to loading, unloading, and movement of network equipment from one place to another to accommodate installation in the network. 2.1.19 Th

15、ermal Stabilization: Thermal stabilization is defined as a steady state by which the average temperature measured varies by no more than 2C (3.6F) over the span of one hour. 2.1.20 Temperature Tolerance: The tolerance allowed for temperatures measured is 3C (5.4F). 3 ATIS-0600010.02.2012(R2017) 2.1.

16、21 Unpackaged EUT: The unpackaged equipment being reviewed for conformance to the requirements specified in this standard. 2.1.22 Vibration Tolerance: The tolerance allowed for vibration is 3 dB. The minimum statistical degrees of freedom 100. Bandwidth 5 Hz. Overall GRMS 1 dB. 2.2 Acronyms however,

17、 actual production samples are not required. If testing is performed with pre-release hardware and changes occur prior to release, the changes shall be analyzed to determine if they may reasonably impact the outcome of the tests. If a significant impact is indicated, the testing shall be repeated on

18、 released hardware. NOTE: It is recommended that exposure to criteria is done consecutively without functional verification or opening of the packaging after initial functional verification and physical inspection has been completed. All samples shall be ATIS-0600010.02.2012(R2017) 4 packaged in the

19、ir normal packaging, including all accessories, operational manuals, cables, etc. More than one test sequence may be required; for example, where a field replaceable unit (FRU) is also shipped in its individual shipping container. The recommended sequence for Baseline criteria is as follows: 1. Func

20、tional Verification and Physical Inspection: Equipment shall be capable of performing thefunctionality as defined in the test plan. Functional performance shall be defined and documentedduring test plan development based on the manufacturers specifications.Input and load conditions shall be chosen t

21、o obtain full utilization of the equipment under test (EUT),as detailed in the test plan. The EUT shall be configured in a functional test bed representative of itsintended use. It is permitted to use artificial loads to simulate external loads on the equipment todetermine proper operation of the EU

22、T during functional checks.2. Packaged Drop.3. Transportation Vibration.4. Rail Car Shock Impact (if applicable).5. Functional Verification and Physical Inspection: The equipments functionality and physical integrityshall be checked at the end of testing. A visual inspection shall be conducted to en

In the case of failure, new equipment must be attained and functional verification shall be performed after each individual stress to identify the failure in questio

25、n. If desired, the equipment can be removed from its packaging and functionally verified between individual tests. This shall be documented in the test report. Upon completion of functional verification, where applicable, the equipment shall be placed back in its original packaging to continue the t

26、est sequence. Calibration and use of equipment shall be in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005, General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. Tolerances other than height are specified in individual sections. Unless otherwise specified, for tests that involve height

27、 measurements, maintain tolerances at 20 mm or 10% of the height, whichever is smaller. 5 Equipment Handling Conditions: Packaged Drop 5.1 Category “A” Packaged Communications Equipment Weighing 25 kg, topple restraints maybe used for safety purposes, as long as the restraints do not affect the outc

For corner drops, the packaged EUT shall be oriented so that a straight line drawn through the struckcorner and the packages geometric center is approximately perpendicular to the impact surface (seeFigure 2).Figure 2: Package Orientation

32、e equipment and check for functionality per Sections 5.1.5.2 and 5.1.5.3.8 ATIS-0600010.02.2012(R2017) 5.2 Category “B” Packaged Communications Equipment Weighing 220.5 pounds (100 kg) or Palletized Communications Equipment 5.2.1 Description The test parameters for Category B packaged drop are inten

33、ded to determine the ability of packaged EUT to withstand the stresses occurring during manual handling, such as loading, unloading, stacking, or sorting. The main stresses of these operations are caused by dropping or impacts from material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand-tru

34、cks, cranes, etc.). Equipment complying with these baseline criteria is also considered compliant to all referenced packaged drop specifications in Table 1. 5.2.2 Test Apparatus or For packaged EUT designed with handling hardware (e.g., eye bolts, etc.), the unit should besupported from it and allow

35、ed to assume the resultant position, as shown in Figure 4. Because therest face may not be horizontal, the prescribed drop height should be measured from the lowest pointon the equipment to the floor. The test area shall be sufficiently large such that the packaged EUT isnot precluded from toppling

37、nce criteria of Section 6. 6.1 Description The test levels and test methods for baseline criteria described in Section 5 are intended to determine the ability of packaged EUT to withstand the vibration environment during transport. The random vibration test parameters provide magnitude, frequency ra

38、nge, duration, and direction of vibration that result in the simulation of actual transportation environments. 11 ATIS-0600010.02.2012(R2017) Compliance to these baseline criteria indicates compliance to all referenced transportation vibration specifications listed in Table 1. 6.2 Test Apparatus how

40、out the exposure, but operational during functional checks. See Section 4. 6.5.2 Equipment Failures Any non-compliance requires a root-cause analysis to determine the reason or cause of said failure. In the case of any non-compliance to Requirement R-8 through Requirement R-10, due to low-cycle fati

41、gue stresses, testing would need to be repeated for all three mutually perpendicular axes. In the event of a failure, good engineering judgment should be exercised to determine which tests would need to be repeated. 6.5.3 Functional and Physical Requirements Environmental conditions and environmenta

42、l tests for telecommunications equipment; Part 2-2: Specification of environmental tests; Transportation, Test Specification T2.3 - Public Transportation. While higher frequencies may be encountered in some transport modes, testing is restricted to the high energy, low frequency contributions. Perfo

43、rm the test once along each of three (3) mutually perpendicular axes of the equipment. NOTE: If the transportation vibration exposure has been performed in accordance with Annex A, it is considered compliant to Section 6. 1. Mount the packaged EUT (resting on its normal shipping base or side) secure

44、ly on the vibration machine.2. Measure the input acceleration with a suitable transducer.3. Subject the package to the prescribed random vibration per Table 3. For palletized containers, where thenormal attitude during transportation is specified, then the severity for the horizontal axes is reduced

45、 by a factor of 10. 4. Subject the package to the prescribed random vibration for 30 minutes in each test axis.5. Inspect the equipment for physical damage and verify operation following the vibration testing.As an acceptable alternative to performing the test described above, the packaged EUT can b

46、e exposed to the Transportation Vibration test in ASTM D 4169 Section 12.4, Random Test Option, Level 1 or Level 2 (Truck and Air) test vibration pattern. This test shall be performed on each of the three mutually perpendicular axes for 1 hour (60 minutes). Testing below 5 Hz is not required. NOTE:

47、The rail ASD (Acceleration Spectral Density) levels are enveloped using the truck and air vibration curve as shown in Figure A-1. 7 Equipment Handling Conditions: Rail Shock Impact Requirement R-11: Packaged EUT weighing more than 200 pounds (91 kg) shall be tested to the baseline criteria described

48、 in Section 7, and shall comply with the applicable conformance criteria of Section 7. This test is not required if it can be demonstrated that the EUT will not be shipped by rail. 7.1 Description The test levels and test methods for baseline criteria described in Section 7 are intended to determine

49、 the ability of packaged EUT to withstand the effects of rail car coupling during transport. The rail car shock impact test parameters provide magnitude, duration, and direction of shock that result in the simulation of actual rail car transportation environments. Compliance to these baseline criteria indicates compliance to all referenced rail car shock specifications listed in Table 1.
