14、l and mechanical attributes of wrist straps used in an electrostatic discharge control program. Wrist straps are intended to connect the user to ESD ground reference, thus preventing electrostatic charge on a users body from attaining a level that may damage ESD susceptible devices or assemblies. Te

15、st methods and performance limits for evaluation, acceptance, and system test are provided. Application and construction guidance is included in the annexes. This document is reformatted from EOS/ESD S1-1987 using improved test methods. This document was originally designated ESD S1.1-1998 and appro

16、ved on October 4, 1998. ESD S1.1-1998 was reaffirmed, redesignated ANSI/ESD S1.1-2006, and was approved on February 26, 2006. ANSI/ESD S1.1-2013 is a revision of ANSI/ESD S1.1-2006 and was approved on July 27, 2011. At the time ANSI/ESD S1.1-2013 was prepared, the 1.0 Wrist Strap Subcommittee had th

Tables 1, 2, an

18、d 3 detail the three types of testing with the required limits and section references to test methods. The methods provide appropriate tests for the different levels of wrist strap examination. Product qualification tests are for evaluating the performance of wrist straps. Acceptance tests provide m

19、ethods for incoming goods inspection. System test measures the wrist strap system electrical resistance. 24、n of cord durability. Some users may have applications that need a higher bending flex life test limit. 25、NNEX D (INFORMATIVE) ANSI/ESD S1.1-2013 REVISION HISTORY 1. Section 1.2 - Verification testing was moved to ESD TR53. 2. Table 1 - Wrist strap system limit was changed from 10 megohms to 35 megohms. 3. Section 6.9 - Added red color noting where non-standard resistance value is located on the cord. This accommodates aesthetic requests for red colored wristbands with the standard resistance value. 4. Changed “cuff” to “wristband” throughout the document.
