The potato peeler shall be constructed from a suitab

9、le corrosion-resisting steel. 3.2 Desiqn and construction. The potato peeler shall be of the general design as shown on figure 1. The figure, except for dimensional limits, is for illustrative purposes and not intended to preclude any commercial design otherwise conforming to the requirements of thi

10、s commercial item description (Cid). 3.3 Blade. The blade shall have a cutting edge measuring 1-3/4 inches (4.4 cm) , +5/16 inch (0.8 cm) , -0 inch, in length. The blade shall be heat treated to a Rockwell C hardness of not less than 47 or greater than 55. The blade shall be securely attached to the

11、 stem, or to the yoke when the alternate handle and yoke design is used (see Figure 1). The stem and blade assembly or the blade, when the alternate handle and yoke design is used, shall move freely in the handle and the yoke shall prevent complete rotation of the blade. 3.4 Workmanship. The peeler

12、shall be free from sharp edges (except for the cutting surfaces), slivers, burrs, deep scratches, pits, and tool marks. The peeler shall not be bent, damaged, or distorted. There shall be no defects which impair the durability, appearance, or serviceability of the item. 3.5 Resulatorv reauirements.

13、The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580, as 1 amended, to the maximum extent practicable. 4 3.6 Measurement system. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values stated in parentheses are for informat

Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within tolerances spe

15、cified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED- STD-376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the specif

16、ication preparing activity for changes to this document. t f 3.8 Commercial item. The use of the term “commercial item description“ in this document does not imply that any item or items offered are not required to conform with all requirements specified herein, 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 C

17、ontractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the potato peeler meets the salient characteristics and the requirements of this commercial item description, and, except for any government unique requirements specified, conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, an

18、d quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace, or is the same product that has been successfully been delivered to the government on a previous contract or purchase order. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance p

19、rior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 4.2 Responsibilitv for insDection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specif

20、ied herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use hic own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. right to perform any of the inspections set forth in

21、 the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. The Government reserves the 4.3 Sampling. The levels of inspection and acceptable quality levels (AQLs) shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4 Lot formation.

22、All peelers from the same manufacturer offered for delivery at one time shall be considered a lot for purposes of inspection. i 4.5 Samplins for visual and dimensional examination. A random sample of peelers shall be selected from each lot in accordance with inspection level S-4, AQL 4.0 expressed i

23、n terms of defects per hundred units (dhu). Samples shall be selected in accordance with inspection level S-2, AQL 6.5 (dhu). 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packasi
