2、RSEDING 9 February 1971 MIL-H-l3837B(ME) COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION HOOK, HOIST, BURTON-STYLE The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID) for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers a forged-steel, burton-style, hoist hook. 2. SALIENT

3、 CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1 Materials. The materials shall be carbon or alloy steel, having a minimum tensile strength of 414 kilopascals (Wa) 60,000 pounds per square inch (psi), and a minimum yield strength of 242 Wa (35,000 psi). 2.2 Proof. The hook shall sustain a steadily applied proof load of 2720 k

4、ilograms (kg) 6,000 pounds (lbs) without permanent set or deformation, and a steadily applied minimum ultimate strength load of 6350 kg (14,000 lbs) without disengagement of the load by straightening of the hook. 2.3 . The hook shall be as shown in figure 1. . 2.4 and legible and shall include, as a

5、 minimum, the manufacturers identification code (CAGE), the contract number, the part identification number (PIN) AA525551 (see 6.1), and the national stock number (NSN). . The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5. PACKING. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified
