In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein (except for associated detail specifications, specification sheets or MS standards) , the text of this specification shall take precedence. shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a

17、specific exemption has been obtained. Nothing in this specification, however, 3. RQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials and components. 3.1.1 Materials. All materials cited on TDPL 5-45-3264 or in subsidiary drawings shall conform to the specifications listed thereon, or to the specific characteristics set forth

18、 in the drawings. 3.1.2 Components. All components of the decontarainating apparatus shall conform to the specifications and drawings listed on TDPL 5-45-3264 and subsid- iary drawings. 3.2 Assembly. The decontaminating apparatus shall be assembled in accor- dance with Drawing 5-45-3264. 3.3 Tanks.

19、3.3.1 Decontaminating tank. The decontaminating tank shall not leak when tested as specified in 4.4.4.1. 3.3.2 Fuel tank. The unpainted tank shall not leak when subjected to an internal air pressure of 2 to 3 pounds per square inch gage (psig) when tested- as specified in 4.4.4.1. 3 Provided by IHSN

The impainted tank shall not leak when sub- jected to an internal air pressure of 2 to 3 psig and when tested as specified in 4.4.4.i. 3.4 K. The gun shall open and close easily without stic

21、king or binding and shall not leak when subjected.to a water pressure of lo5 psig minimum when tested as specified in 4.4.4.2. 3.5 Nozzles. 3.5.1 Slurry nozzle. The nozzle when subjected to a minimum pressure of io5 psig at 25 + 5 galions per minute (gpm) at 3850 + 50 revolutions per minute (rpin) a

The decontaminating tank, piping, valves, hose, connections, nozzles and gages shall function properly and shall not leak when the apparatus is operated for a minimum period of

25、 1 hour pumping water to and from the tank at a discharge pressure of 105 psig minimum as specified in )+.4,4.4. 3.6.2 Alternator. The governor shall be adjusted to permit the engine to turn at 3850 - + 50 rpn instead of 3600 rpm in figure 3-16, page 3-19 of TM5- 2805-259-14. with the switch in the

26、ON position and shall indicate no voltage with the switch in the OFF psition when tested as specified in 4.4.4.4. The alternator system shall produce 26 to 30 volts direct current 3.7 Preproduction. Prior to the start of regular production, a preproduc- tion sample shall be produced in accordance wi

27、th this specification for examina- tion and tests. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as

29、 otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements speci- fied herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set

30、 forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to presc ribed requirement s. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. Ail item must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a pa

31、rt of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the respnsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all require- ment

32、s of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize sub- mission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective niaterial. 4.1.2 Objective evidence. The contractor shall provide objective evidence acceptable to

33、the contracting officer that the requirements of 3.1 and section 5 for which specific inspection has not been provided in this specification have been satisified. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: (a (b) Preproduction inspectio

34、n ( see 4.3) . Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4) 4.3 Preproduction inspection. 4.3.1 Sample. One decontaminating apparatus shall be produced using the same methods, materials, equipment and processes as will be used in regular pro- duct ion. 4,3.2 For examination and tests. The sample shall b

35、e examined and tested for all the requirements of this specification. 4.3.3 Acceptance/rejection criteria. The sample shall meet the examinations and tests specified in this specification to be acceptable. The contractor shall obtain written approval from the contracting officer prior to proceeding

Each lot shall be identified and controlled in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. comwnents produced by one ma

38、. (e) Nozzles. 4.4.2 Sampling. Sampling shall. be conducted in accordance with table I. 4.4.3 Inspection procedure. 4.4.3.1 For examination and nondestructive tests. The air cleaner shall be removed, preserved, wrapped in barrier inaterial conforrning to grade A, MIL-B-121 and inclosed in an overwrap of paper- board cushioning material conforming to type III, style 1, PPP-P-291. The over- wrap shall be secure

42、d by taping with pressure-sensitive tape conforining to PPP- T-76, and the wrapped air cleaner shall be secured, by taping to the inside of the pump assembly corner post adjacent to the carburetor. With preserved tools and other accessories stowed within, the tool compartment door shall be closed an

43、d secured, including cushioning inaterial as necessary (see 5.1.1.6). The cover panels shall be installed in place and secured after coating all hinges and fasteners with preservative oil. The discharge hoses shall be extended full length, completely drained and rewound on the reels. The guns shall

44、be secured in the holding brackets by taping, tying, or strapping together to restrict free movement.
