This document covers one type of wall tent, having the following dimensions: width, 10 feet; length, 20 feet, 7 inches; ridge height, 9 feet; and side wall height, 5 feet, 10-1/2 inches. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained.

23、 3. REQIJIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.4). 3.2 Materials and components. Materials and components shall be as specified herein (see 6.5). 3.2.1 Cloth, cotton duck. The cloth s

24、hall conform to MIL-C-43627, Olive Drab 7. 3.2.2 Cloth, cotton oxford. The cloth shall conform to type I, class 2 of MIL-C-10859. 3.2.3 Tape, textile, cotton. The tape shall be dyed Olive Drab 7 and shall conform to type I, class 4, 3/4-inch, 1-inch, 1-1/2, inch and 2-inch widths of MIL-14-43566. co

The low elongation webbing shall conform to types I and II of MIL-W-43638. 3.2.6 Thread, polyester. 3.2.6.1 Tent, screens and cover. The thread shall conform t

27、o type I, class 1, sub-class B, shade S-1 (Cable No. 66022) of V-T-285. The dyed thread shall show fastness to weathering equal to or better than the standard shade sample (see 6.3). When no standard shade sample is available, the dyed thread shall show good fastness to weathering. c 3.2.6.2 Liner.

The construction shall conform in all respects to the drawings listed in section 2 and shali be as specified herein. 3.3.1 Stitching, machine. 3.3.1.1 Types of stitching. All stitch types, except bartacking, shall conform to FED-STD-751 as follows: For tent, screen

41、s and cover: For all stitching except stitching - Type 30 indicated by llZ1l on drawings, and inch alternatively for attachments of slide fasteners For stitching indicated by llZ1l on drawings and for attachments of slide fasteners For liner: For all stitching, except stitching indicated by rtZll on

When thread breaks or bobbin run-outs occur during sewing, the stitching shall be repaired by restarting the stitching a minimum

46、of 1 inch behind the end of the stitching. - I/ b. Thread breaks or two or more consecutive skipped or run-off stitches noted during inspection of the item (in-process or end item) shall be repaired by overstitching. The stitching shall start a minimum of 1 inch before the defective area (1/2 inch o

47、n box, box and cross, and W-W stitching) and continue a minimum of 1 inch beyond the defective area onto the existing stitching. Loose or excessively tight stitching shall be repaired by removing the defective stitching, without damaging the materials, and restitching in the required manner. 1/ - 1/

48、 - When making the above repairs, the ends of the stitching are not required to be backstitched. 3.3.1.3 Type 401 stitching. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no loose stitching. Both ends of seams or stitching produced with a 401 stitch type, when not turned under a hem or he

49、ld down by other stitching, shall have a 3/4 to 1 inch chain extending beyond each end. The looper (under thread) shall always be on the inside of the tent or cover. All repairs shall be made in accordance with 3.3.1.2.1a or 3.3.1.2.1b. 3.3.1.4 Automatic stitching. Automatic stitching machines may be used to perform any of the required stitch patterns provided the requirements of the stitch pattern, stitches per inch, size and
