In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, (except for related associated detail specifications, specification sheets or MS standards), the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, su

26、persedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Description. Level 2 equipment (body assembly, cargo trailer) consists of the toolboxes, supporting steel members, and the steel subbase frame (see 3.12). The level 1 equipment (tool outfit) c

27、onsists of the level 2 equipment and the components compiled from the supply catalog referenced herein (see 6.4). Both level 1 and level 2 equipment shall be as specified herein and : a. In accordance with TA13229E9760. b. Provided with the mounting and tiedown devices specified herein (see 3.13). 1

28、-1.1 Drwinas. The drawings forming a part of this specification are end product drawings. prescribed dimensions or tolerances is permissible without prior approval of the contracting officer. Where tolerances could cumulatively result in incorrect fits, the contractor shall provide tolerances within

29、 those prescribed on the drawings to ensure correct fit, assembly, and operation of the equipment. Any data (e.g. shop drawings, layouts, flcw sheets, processing procedures, etc,) prepared by the contractor or obtained from a vendor to suppcrt fabrication and manufacture of the prodaction item shall

30、 be nade available, upon requesk:, for inspection by the contracting officer or designated representative. 31、le. The contractor shall furnish equipment for examination and test within the time frame specified (see 6.2) to prove prior to starting production, that his designs and production methods shall produce equipment that comply with the requirements of this specification (see 6.3). Level 1 equipment sh

32、all be furnished trailer-mounted with components, compiled from the supply catalog referenced herein (see 6.4), secured in place. 3.3 Material. Material shall be as specified herein and on the drawings. Materials not specified shall be selected by the contractor and shall be subject to all provision

33、s of this specification. 3.3.1 Material deterioration Drevention and control. Equipment shall be fabricated from compatible materials, inherently corrosion resistant or treated to provide protection against the various forms of corrosion and deterioration that may be encountered in any of the applic

34、able operating and storage environments to which the equipment may be exposed. Cadmium plated fasteners shall not be used. 3.3.2 Dissimilar metals. Dissimilar metals shall not be used Dissimilar metals and methods of protection in intimate contact with each other unless protected against galvanic co

35、rrosion. are defined and detailed in MIL-STD-889. 3.3.3 Identification of materials and finishes. The contractor shall identify the specific material, material finish or treatment for use with component and subcomponent, and shall make information available upon request to the contracting officer or

36、 designated representative. 3.3.4 Recovered materials. For the propose of this requirement, recovered materials are those materials which have been collected from solid waste and reprocessed to become a source of raw materials, as distinguished from virgin raw materials. The components, pieces and p

37、arts incorporated in the equipment may be newly fabricated from recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, provided the equipment produced meets all other requirements of this specification. Used, rebuilt or remanufactured components, pieces and parts shall not be incorporated in the equ

38、ipment. 3.4 Safety. All rotating or reciprocating parts and other parts subject to high operation temperatures that are of such a nature or are so located as to be a hazard to operating personnel, shall be guarded or insulated to the extent necessary to eliminate the hazard. Protective devices shall

39、 not impair the operating functions. 40、ges, projecting points, or excessive lengths of fasteners shall be avoided. 3.5 Human factors ensineerinq. Level 1 and level 2 equipment shall conform to accepted human factors engineering design criteria as described in MIL-STD-1472. shall be given, but not limited, to general requirements (4), con

41、trol/display integration (5.1), visual displays (5.2), controls (5.4), labeling (5.5), design for maintainability (5.9), hazards and safety (5.13) of MIL-STD-1472, as applicable. Special design emphasis 3.6 Noise limits. For level 1 equipment, the noise produced by the power tools and units shall co

42、nform with MIL-STD-1474 requirements when tested in accordance with 5.1.2, with the exception of 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4. The provisions of 4.2 and 4.3 of MIL-STD-1474 shall be provided, if and only if, procedures stated in 5.1.1.3 of MIL-STD-1474 have been pursued and documented to the satisfaction of th

43、e procuring activity and written permission to exceed the 85 Db(A) limit is obtained from the contracting activity. Hazard signs shall conform to 4.2 of MIL-STD-1474. For the purpose of the noise measurements, the operator position is defined as 20 feet from both the skid mounted and the wheel mount

44、ed power units. 3.7 Performance requirements. For level 1 equipment, the performance requirements shall be performed on both power units and on the tools. 3.7.1 Rated caDacitv. Within 5 minutes of operation after starting, both power units shall be capable of operating at full power when operating u

45、nder all conditions specified herein. 3.7.2 Low temDeratures. Both power units shall start and operate as specified herein for not less than 4 hours at rated capacity for an ambient temperature of -25 OF. Each hydraulic ana electric tool shall be connected to the skid mounted power unit utilizing th

46、e necessary hydraulic hose and electrical assemblies and run for a period of one minute. 3.7.3 Hiqh temDeratures. Both power units shall start and operate as specified herein for not less than IC hours at rated capacity for an ambient temperature up to +120 “F. Each hydraulic and electric tool shall

47、 be connected to the skid mounted power unit ut.ilizing the necessary hydraulic hose and slectrical assemblies and run fcr a period of one minute. 3.8 Maintainabilitv. A11 major assemblies and installed attachments shall be accessible for maintenance repair and I replacement without removal of other

Cover plates which must be removed for component

49、adjustment shall be equipped with quick- disconnect fastenings. Cover plates shall be labeled with nomenclature for items accessible through them in accordance with MIL-STD-1472, 5.9.9.3 (see 3.5). All fasteners shall be of corrosion-resistant material or shall be tested to be corrosion resistant. All screw threads shall be in accordance with FED-STD-H28.
