18、ld be submitted as a Criteria Change Request (CCR).*PART 1 GENERAL1.1 SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONThis section covers only the color of the exterior and interior materials and products that are exposed to view in the finished construction. The word “color“, as used herein, includes surface color and pattern.

19、Requirements for quality and method of installation are covered in other appropriate sections of the specifications. Specific locations where the various materials are required are shown on the drawings. Items not designated for color in this section may be specified in other sections. When color is

21、DURES and edit the following list to reflect only the submittals required for the project. Submittals should be kept to the minimum required for adequate quality control.A “G” following a submittal item indicates that the submittal requires Government approval. Some submittals are already marked wit

22、h a “G”. Only delete an existing “G” if the submittal item is not complex and can be reviewed through the Contractors Quality Control system. Only add a “G” if the submittal is sufficiently important or complex in context of the project.For submittals requiring Government approval on Army projects,

23、a code of up to three characters within the submittal tags may be used following the “G“ designation to indicate the approving authority. Codes for Army projects using the Resident Management System (RMS) are: “AE“ for Architect-Engineer; “DO“ for District Office (Engineering Division or other organ

24、ization in the District Office); “AO“ for Area Office; “RO“ for Resident Office; and “PO“ for Project Office. Codes following the “G“ typically are not used for Navy, Air Force, and NASA projects.Choose the first bracketed item for Navy, Air Force and NASA projects, or choose the second bracketed it

25、em for Army projects.*Government approval is required for submittals with a “G“ designation; submittals not having a “G“ designation are for Contractor Quality Control approval. information only. 29、r this contract.b. Materials shall be labeled with the finish type, manufacturers name, pattern, and color reference.c. Samples shall be on size 216 by 279 mm 8-1/2 by 11 inch boards with a maximum spread of size 648 by 838 mm 25-1/2 by 33 inches for foldouts.d. Samples for this color board are requ

30、ired in addition to samples requested in other specification sections.e. Color boards shall be submitted to the following addresses: _PART 2 PRODUCTS2.1 REFERENCE TO MANUFACTURERS COLOR*NOTE: Where manufacturers items are referenced for color, check to ensure that the referenced item complies with t

31、he appropriate quality standards specified in other sections.*Where color is shown as being specific to one manufacturer, an equivalent color by another manufacturer may be submitted for approval. Manufacturers and materials specified are not intended to limit the selection of equal colors from othe

32、r manufacturers.2.2 COLOR SCHEDULE*NOTE: All interior and exterior finish colors are to be included in this specification. Additional materials may be added to the specification. Items not pertaining to the project will be deleted by the designer. Include applicable mechanical, fire protection, stru

33、ctural, architectural, site and electrical items that have an impact on the aesthetics of a facility. These may include the following exterior items: diesel generator sets, transformers, exhaust fans, condensing units, and exterior paving materials. Interior considerations may include items such as

34、exhaust grilles, fan coil units, fin tube/convectors, sprinkler heads, marble thresholds, and building hardware. The color for these items need to be coordinated with the appropriate design discipline.When this specification is utilized, reference will be made in applicable guide specifications clar

36、urer, pattern name (when applicable), and color name of the finish (example: Vinyl Composition Tile: XYZ Co., Pattern Stonegate, Color Tourmaline #136). The Color Schedule may contain a reference to another specification section where the color is designated. (Example: Signage: See Section 10 14 02

37、INTERIOR SIGNAGE for color).When multiple colors of the same material are specified, add finish color codes and notes within the color listing to identify location of different material colors. For instance, Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT-1): XYZ Co., Pattern Stonegate, Color Shale #18 shall be located

38、 in offices and Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT-2): XYZ Co., Pattern Stonegate #39, Color Grey shall be located in storage rooms. To further clarify location of finish colors used in floor and wall patterns or other details, use the finish color code in the specification and on the drawings as a cross-r

39、eference tool.When the project is large or the design is complicated, this section may be used in conjunction with the Room Finish Schedule Drawing. In this instance, the designer can use the drawing to indicate placement, using abbreviations such as C-1 and C-2 (Carpet-1, Carpet-2). The designer mu

40、st include a statement on the drawing clarifying that “color designations shall be as indicated in Section 09 06 90 COLOR SCHEDULE.“ Section 09 06 90 is then utilized to specify a manufacturers reference for all exterior and interior finishes in the following manner: Carpet C-1: XYZ Co., pattern Peb

41、bleweave, color DF506-204 Vienna Woods. The designer should then include a statement that the placement of flooring, base, wall, and ceiling finishes shall be shown on the Room Finish Schedule on the drawings. This method is desirable since it keeps all manufacturers color references in one location

42、.Do not duplicate information that is specified in the individual specifications.*The color schedule lists the colors, patterns and textures required for exterior and interior finishes, including both factory applied and field applied colors.2.2.1 Exterior WallsExterior wall colors shall apply to ex

43、terior wall surfaces including recesses at entrances and projecting vestibules. Conduit shall be painted to closely match the adjacent surface color.
