Mechanical Properties8.1 The purchaser and manufacturer shall agree upo
15、n themethod to be used to verify the typical yield or tensile strengthin the finished parts. The preferred method for verifying thetensile or yield strength is for the manufacturer and purchaserto agree upon a qualification test to be performed on the actualpart. The specific test should be determin
16、ed after considerationof the function of the part.An example would be measuring theforce needed to break teeth off a gear, using a prescribedfixture.8.2 The tensile properties of the material may also beverified using specifically prepared bars, compacted from thesame mixed powder lot as the purchas

18、. Dimensions and Tolerances9.1 Dimensions and tolerances of the structural componentsshall be indicated on drawings accompanying the purchaseorder or contract.10. Sampling10.1 Chemical AnalysisIf required by purchase agree-ment, at least one sample for chemical analysis shall be takenfrom each lot.
19、A representative sample of chips may beobtained by dry-milling, drilling, or crushing at least twopieces without lubrication using clean dry tools.10.2 Mechanical TestingIf required by the purchaseagreement, the manufacturer and purchaser shall mutuallyagree on the representative number of specimens
20、 for mechani-cal testing from each lot. This number shall be based on goodpractice of statistical quality control.11. Inspection11.1 Unless otherwise specified, inspection of componentssupplied on contract shall be made by the purchaser.12. Rejection and Rehearing12.1 Components that fail to conform
21、 to the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Rejection shall be reportedto the producer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with test results, the producer or supplier maymake a claim for rehearing.13. Certification13.1 When specified in the purchase order or
22、 contract, aproducers certification of compliance document shall bereported to the purchaser, verifying that the componentsmanufactured were sampled, tested, and inspected in accor-dance with this specification and have met the requirements.When specified in the purchase order or contract, a report
23、oftest results shall be furnished.13.2 Certification by an independent third party indicatingconformance to the requirements of this specification may beconsidered upon the request of the purchaser.13.3 The purchase order or contract shall specify whether ornot the certification includes a report of
